Yup. Offensive line is the worst I've ever seen, including John Blake and Howard Shnellenburger.

I wondered if that were the case early on when the lead was 3 scores but when the score got closer there were a couple of long passes that connected which were not enough to overcome the overall Sooner defense.
I think JH didn't go full on air raid offense out of fear the OU secondary would get a pick and turn things completely around.
As it was the Vols got bailed out on both of Nico's fumbles and surely that had to have played into how Josh called the 4th quarter.
Seeing a backup QB come in and jump start the Sooner offense caused JH to adjust into a more conservative game to preserve what had been a sure win to a fluid sitiation.

If Hawkins had started Sooners would have won IMO.
Let’s not get carried away here.

Hawkins got bailed out by one ridiculous roughing the passer call which would have negated his second touchdown which means Oklahoma would have scored a grand total of 6 points the entire second half with Hawkins as the starter
Tennessee only scored 6 points in the second half.
It's not ridiculous to assume that if OU just got a few first downs and wasn't so inept on offense, their defense might have only allowed UT10 points in the first half and may have kicked another FG or two themselves (or even gotten a TD rather than getting stopped on the 2 on their first FG).
I don't know if OU would have won, but it would likely have been a closer game. UT's offense in large part was OU's offense screwing up.

Do you see OU as bowl team? They need 3 more wins to get to 6. Hawkins didn’t do anything until the Vols went vanilla to protect guys. Even then it was play man and spy. So who is OU supposed to upset to hit 6-6?
Auburn UofSC and Maine are absolute must wins and I’m not sure they are can beat a UofSC with their QB healthy.
