You never heard of Robert Heinlein?
Of course I have.
Stranger in a Strange Land is probably the shittiest sci-fi novel I've ever finished.
I should have thrown a confetti celebration and worn a "champs" shirt to celebrate I managed to finish it without puking.

I devoured Heinlein in high school.
Pretty advanced for the 1960's. One quote I recall was Jubal (the Heinlein surrogate) saying to his secretary Dorcas, "We are going to get busy - get political!"
And Dorcas says, "In that case I better get dressed."
"Reception[edit]
Heinlein's deliberately provocative book generated considerable controversy.[9] The free love and commune living aspects of the Church of All Worlds led to the book's exclusion from school reading lists. After it was rumored to be associated with Charles Manson, it was removed from school libraries as well.[10]
Writing in The New York Times, Orville Prescott received the novel caustically, describing it as a "disastrous mishmash of science fiction, laborious humor, dreary social satire and cheap eroticism"; he characterized Stranger in a Strange Land as "puerile and ludicrous", saying "when a non-stop orgy is combined with a lot of preposterous chatter, it becomes unendurable, an affront to the patience and intelligence of readers".[11]
Galaxy reviewer Floyd C. Gale gave the original edition a mixed review, saying "the book's shortcomings lie not so much in its emancipation as in the fact that Heinlein has bitten off too large a chewing portion."[12]
Despite such reviews, Stranger in a Strange Land won the 1962 Hugo Award for Best Novel[13] and became the first science fiction novel to enter The New York Times Book Review's best-seller list.[9] In 2012, it was included in a Library of Congress exhibition of "Books That Shaped America".[14] - wiki

Heinlein's "Starship Troopers" has been on the official Marine Corps reading list for decades. The movie is nothing like the book, which also won a Hugo Award.

You are an idiot, right? Bammer claims titles not sanctioned by the NCAA.
Alabama's claimed championships
1925-- The 1925 team, coached by Wallace Wade, completed the regular season 9-0-0, winning the Southern Conference championship. Alabama was then invited to play Washington in the January 1, 1926 Rose Bowl. Coach Wade's team initially fell behind the undefeated Huskies, but rallied in the second half to defeat Washington 20-19. The outstanding player of the game was Johnny Mack Brown. The 1925 Alabama football team finished the season with a 10-0-0 record and was selected national champions by Football Annual and the Helms Athletic Foundation.
1926-- The 1926 team, coached by Wallace Wade, completed the regular season 9-0-0, winning the Southern Conference championship. Alabama was then invited to play Stanford in the January 1, 1927 Rose Bowl. Coach Wade's team tied the Indians 7-7 to finish the season 9-0-1. The outstanding player of the game was Fred Pickhard. The team was selected as national champion by the Helms Athletic Foundation
1930-- The 1930 team, coached by Wallace Wade, completed the regular season 9-0-0, winning the Southern Conference championship. Alabama was then invited to play Washington State in the January 1, 1931 Rose Bowl. Coach Wade's team defeated the Cougars 24-0 to finish the season 10-0-0. The outstanding player of the game was John Campbell. Park Davis retroactively awarded Alabama a share in the national championship in his analysis for Spalding's Football Guide in 1934. The contemporary Dickenson, Dunkel and Houlgate rankings gave Notre Dame, also 10-0, the championship. The Fighting Irish are recognized as champions in the NCAA record book.
And so on.
Didn't you know that? I did.

Can you please link me that record book from the NCAA you are referring to?
According to the NCAA website they only list UA as the 1925 NC and list UA & Stanford for 26 and both UA & ND for 30.
LINK
But would love to see this link if you have it.

This is the link I found:
"List of Alabama Crimson Tide football national championships
This is a list of Alabama Crimson Tide football national championships. The school officially claims 16 championships, some of which are disputed."

They need to update it as the NCAA list 14 not 12, but there at least not recognized that are questionable.
Thanks for the link was curious.

Just about anything prior to 1971 is pretty questionable. 1970 is the last year the NCAA recognizes more than two "consensus" national champions. After that there are split "consensus" champions, but never more than two.
The AFL and NFL also fully merged right around then, so it seems as good as any time to mark the emergence of the modern era for football.

You know that same ncaa.com website I have linked for you several times, that shows UT with only 2 legitimate claims to a national title? Well, it also shows Alabama with 14. It doesn't count the 1934 title. Evidently it wasn't considered a legitimate observance of a national title. I'm cool with that.
In any event, I haven't seen an Alabama fan in this thread claiming any bogus titles. In fact, you're the only UT fan in this thread, that I have noticed anyway, claiming bogus titles.
So you can't discuss a point, evidently, without personal attacks. That is generally the mark of an ignorant man.

Interesting, LSU has TWICE as many national titles as Tennessee.
And the first title for a southern team.
Apparently the Tigers go WAY back.
