To leave for a blue blood football program? To have more resources? To have a better recruiting base? To make more money? To have the best football stadium in America? To have the best fanbase in America? I can go on and on.

“You can’t coach Ole Miss if you’re leaving for LSU”

No. They wanted him to sign a 4 year extension or he couldn’t coach the playoffs. He wanted to coach them all the way through before leaving. It’s his team that he built

Husband: You can’t be my wife if you’re sleeping with the neighbor and told them you’re leaving me for them. Don’t come to my birthday party.

Wife: My husband won’t let me act like his wife anymore!

Wife’s LSU friend: It’s the husband’s fault the wife isn’t at his birthday party.

He went to Alabama? Michigan? Notre Dame? Because currently he isn't at a blue blood...

My opinion? I think he may have been at least a little bit concerned that he was not up to the task of coaching them through the CFP. That the LSU job provided him a timely and convenient out. It is well known that he had been looking at other jobs in the background for a while. Now was the best opportunity he had.

Serious.

Still think he is going to be a great coach for LSU and he was the best option available at the time (regardless as to how messy the entire process has been). Time will tell if I am right or wrong.

Downvote away.

Obviously. And he made three critical errors in judgement while doing it.
1. Thinking that there are bluebloods anymore or that LSU was one of them and underestimating his own very talented team.

2. Making enemies with the most organized Athletics organization in the NIL era completely unnecessarily.

3. Underestimating his own very talented team and hinging his entire portal plan on them losing. He would certainly have benefited from Ole Miss losing but it was an unnecessary risk if LSU is indeed #JustDifferent

LSU will be fine and even get a few good players from our roster. While we are getting a lot of good players from everyone’s roster.

Ultimately he chose between:

1. Taking a job he wanted.
over
2. Finishing the season with his team. (which came with the caveat to commit)

Yes, he quit. He's free to make that decision. But *zero* chance any of his mentors, particularly Saban, would walk away from a Playoff team simply to take another job. 0 percent.

The calendar is what it is. Ultimately, he made his career aspirations a priority over seeing this season out because those were his choices, and that's his right, but that doesn't make him any less of a quitter.

And no, he couldn't have continued to coach this team. If anything, the last month has proven what a disaster that would've been. It's become enough of a circus with assistants. You can't recall your assistants back and forth because you need them for the portal and not understand why that would've been so detrimental as a head coach in a semifinal/potential NCG prep scenario.

Have you been outside lately? Seen any news headlines?

I will say, you’re doing well as an alter troll
