Did Bruce Pearl really just say Auburn has "the best homecourt atmosphere in the country"?

I think they do this year, and it’s not particularly close.
When they rattle off a few losses, that’ll change. But for now, it’s true.

Their star player just said BWA was the loudest place he’s ever played. I’m not advocating BWA as the best but there are plenty of places that are close or better.

Auburn's atmosphere is spectacular. Much better than the concert venue we play in. Should have never left the Coliseum. That place was rowdy.

For one game, against the #1 ranked team in the country - I have no doubt. Season long home court advantage? Auburn by a mile.
Auburn fans are only interested in their non-football programs when those programs are winning, but that’s what the basketball team is doing this year - and their fans jam themselves into a well designed sardine can that produces consistent noise.

20+? There’s trolling and then there’s trolling.

I’ll agree with you, Walton Arena is an impressive place. You rightfully should to be proud of it.

Lmao
Kansas, Michigan St, Arkansas, Purdue, BYU, Utah St, Duke, Indiana are all louder and that's just off the top of my head.

When you give a SEC program a High School Gym it’s gonna be loud.
They do have the best right now

I agree. BWA is super loud, but it only gets that way about once a decade, so there's not a lot of consistency to be the best atmosphere in the country.

I've been to Bud Walton twice a couple years ago, once agaist us and the other against Tennessee (game went to OT and was crazy). That arena was loud as frick both times.
Kansas holds the record for the loudest arena in basketball. Watch their games. The building never stops rocking.
Stick to football gump.

Our home record is the best in country since 2018 or something.
Someone has a graphic out there for what’s is worth. I think .850 win percentage.
Auburn is solid for sure but no chance 9,000 fans are louder than an extremely well designed arena with literally 2x the fans.

Bruh Arkansas had a average team when I went both times and it was rocking. I went to Auburn Arena in 2019, it was loud, but BWA had it beat. Tennessee was probably louder as well.

When did atmosphere become defined strictly on loudness?

Loud doesn't mean intimidating. It is all about the closeness of the fans to the action. That is by design of an arena.
