On some other Bama boards fans talk about how Bama told Gunner we don't need/want you son. If so why in the world would you do that?

My guess is that they are pissed that we lost him. I don't think the Bama coaches would have pulled his offer unless something is wrong with his character but I'm not sure.

Yes, Saban allowed him to go to LSU. That's how it works when order is restored.

I'm fairly sure those weren't the exact words used. They didn't pursue him very hard after his initial commitment to Indiana though.

They wanted him, but at the point when he decommitted, Bama's preference of Kiel over Winston had reversed...

BTW...Kiel.

Why is it so difficult for some fans to spell players' names correctly at LSU?

i have heard that when he decommitted from indiana he called and basically that is what was said, because he silently committed to bama then publicly committed to Indiana without talking to the bama coaches. But who knows what really happened

when morris got on board after kiel committed to IU, they may have just settled there and decided not to revisit the GK saga not knowing if they'd actually end up getting his signature even with him committing.

not at all saying that they passed on GK, because you don't pass on the #1 qb on everyone's board...but maybe they decided that with Morris already in the bank, they go full circle and guns blazing after winston.

That is always Bama fans response to recruits they miss out on.

i'm sure him committing to IU burned a few bridges.

Remember... 'i' before 'e', except after 'c'!

ecause he silently committed

It is my understanding that a lot of kids silently commit but don't honor it once they leave campus.

The stuff about Winston does makes sense on why they backed off. I am not saying that he was a Bama lock but to back way off a kid like GK just sounds odd.

You would have to be completely delusional to think at this point we do not prefer Winston to Gunner. The situation has worked to our favor if we land Winston. The chance to recruit Winston again and Gunner again and we chose Winston.
