No,according to Jed, Saban has too much respect for LSU to score anything other than FG's. He was yelling at Richardson to run out of bounds at the 1 yard line to they could kick another FG.

No,according to Jed, Saban has too much respect for LSU to score anything other than FG's. He was yelling at Richardson to run out of bounds at the 1 yard line to they could kick another FG.
Similarly, Miles had the OL and Jefferson commit all those false starts and offsides that killed short-yardage sitations on purpose.
He also told Jefferson to throw the deep post pass to Landry 3 feet ahead of him on purpose so as not to score a TD.
And on 11/5, he told Shepard to catch that pass on the Bama 10 yard line and just flop down on the ground like a puppet with no Bama defender anywhere near him.
I guess Saban also told his kickers to kick 2 FGs woefully short and 1 wide....
