We'll agree to disagree on that. Several veteran real scouts say they haven't seen a player like DGB in a long time.

People said the same things about DeAndre Brown because of his height.

I can agree with the need to see him against better competition. Springfield football for the most part sucks. I can't even think of the last D1 player to come out of the city despite the metro are being like 300,000. He definitely doesn't get any competition in conference. He also doesn't do the camp/7v7 circuit so you don't have that to go off of either. I think he is going to be a big time receiver in college but I would also like to see how he does against other elite high school talent for once to see if he would still dominate like he does now.

To all you naysayers: We'll take him and see if we can't make something out of him. Someone's got to.

Neither did Matt Jones when he played for the Hogs, but for some reason, noone could get an angle on him... A 6'6" guy running down the sideline can be deceptively fast w/ the long strides he takes.

He doesn't seem to translate that speed on the field. He isn't slow by any means, but he doesn't look like a burner when he's playing

I was thinking about posting this exact same topic, using the exact same example!

DGB's deceptive speed, due to a long stride gives the appearance of moving slow, when in fact he is covering a helluva lotta ground very quickly.

Out of high school he would probably be rated ahead of every single player you listed.

Funny that you say this then i get this tweet:

ScoutKennedy Scott Kennedy
5 best WR's I've Scouted, in chrono order: Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones, AJ Green, Robert Woods, Dorial Green-Beckham #scoutrecruiting

Like i said, nothing i have said about him means i dont think he has tremendous upside he is just still raw, i am sure he will do great wherever he goes.

The annual "he plays against weak competition"...

Green-Beckham 2012
Frazier 2011
Dyer 2010

Regardless, this guy would pretty much start for every team next year...Maybe not UT depending on their set (Hunter/Rogers is a dangerous duo)...

He would play at Arkansas a lot...just not in the opening set (Hamilton,Wade,Minor/Herndon)
