With the university already getting roasted over their mishandling of the Sasha Menu Courey situation, Pinkel really had nowhere else to go with this....

Exactly.

Now this guy is going to go to some small school where he can play right away and try to get a Combine invite next year. I hope nobody holds the girl he assaulted at fault.

His Draft stock will absolutely tank though. He never really lived up to expectations for being a #1 recruit in any year, he was always doing drugs, getting into trouble and now beating women.

The question has been answered:
Who does a guy have to choke to play for AU?

Totally unrelated situation and apples to oranges comparison. You're better than this.

How so? Courey was raped by one or more members of the FB program, reported it to university officials who did nothing, she was ostracized by her coaches and kicked from the team, and ultimately took her own life.

Today the independent council findings were released that is totally negative of the universities' handling of the Courey case, which will most likely result in certain officials losing their jobs....

Also today and in recent days it's become clear that DGB - a UM FB player - physically assaulted his GF in an event that has followed other recent arrests, etc. In light of all the above, could Pinkel and the UM AD REALLY just brush DGB's event under a rug and claim "internal" punishments, while keeping him on the team and playing?

highly doubtful IMO....

Guy has been a dark cloud and distraction since day one, with few bright spots in between the BS.

Glad he's gone, it was the right decision.

With DGB gone Mizzou now loses players that caught 27 of their 31 TDs last year (Washington, Lucas, DGB, Waters, and Josey). Combine that with losing Josey's 1166 yards and 16 rushing TDs along with 7 or 8 defensive starters, Franklin and 2 OL.

Well, I read this:

quote:

The University Failed to Have Title IX Policies in Place for Its Employees Contrary
to the Department of Education’s Guidance Regarding Title IX

The University’s lack of the necessary
policies to ensure compliance with Title IX is significant and appears to have contributed in
large part to the University’s failure, as discussed in our additional conclusions, to conduct an
appropriate inquiry when University officials had information indicating that Sasha Menu
Courey had been sexually assaulted.

The University Should Have Acted on the Information It Had in November 2012

An analysis of Title IX, its regulations, and the pertinent guidance provided by the Department of Education regarding its views of the requirements of Title IX, in conjunction with an analysis of the facts which were known by University officials as of November 20, 2012, demonstrates that the steps taken at that time by the University, and its General Counsel’s Office in particular, were inconsistent with the Department of Education’s guidance about the requirements of Title IX and were not in accord with what would be expected of a university with a robust Title IX compliance program. The Title IX coordinator should have been notified of the facts, an investigation should have been conducted at that time, and the police department should have been notified.

That's just from the very first 2 paragraphs of the report, and it goes downhill from there.....

Shut up man. There was no evidence that anyone other than Medical personal were aware of the rape prior to her death.

There are procedural issues but there was no intentional wrong doing by individuals involved and nothing criminal on the part of the University of Missouri.

Seriously, moron.
