Ok,I understand that him and his family will need assistance and help for the rest of his life if he is indeed paralyzed (God forbid) and Im all for helping him in any way. But shouldn't the school's insurance have most if not all of this kids medical expenses covered?

frick, I don't know man. If you're too cheap to throw in $25 to help the guy then that's on you.

Has nothing to do with being "cheap".Jesus dude, its about making sure funds get into the proper hands.
Hell,Im more than happy to contribute to a go fund me account where I know the funds are going to his family.
Wouldn't you hope that these players have the proper medical insurance in the event of injuries like this?
If not,its a freakin travisty.

why attack someone over this? Do you contribute to the kill shelters that sarah mclaughlin makes us change the channel over? What about that village in nairobi that you can help for only 39 cents a day?
Just because someone doesnt' contribute to something doesn't mean they're cheap.

This fund came from Southern and multiple UGA sources have tweeted it out.

Since when did you become the moral barometer on everything?

This is not a gofundme account. This is through Southern U. These insurance policies are capped. I don't know what they are capped at. Given that he is a college aged kid he possibly could need medical help for the next 60 years that these insurance policies will not cover once they run out.

who said anything about morals? All I said was, if you'll go back and read, that not contributing to this football player's recovery doesn't make one cheap.

I'm always looking for a breakdown before I contribute to anything. How much us needed? Why? Who is overseeing the fund?
I like to help, but figure anyone asking should be completely forthcoming.

I checked the link out and it's legit, but yesterday one of Devon's friends came in here and posted not to give to any "me fund" as it could jeopardise his future.
I'm sure it's just confusion and I will be cutting him a check as this is one area where every little bit helps in making a difference.

I would assume it varies greatly with whoever the provider is. I would hope they would also provide catastrophic insurance for him for something like this.
Its pretty much a lump sum for cases like his.Hell,I know we he had it in HS ball. But Im obviously no expert.

Like I said before Im ALL for provding this type of assistance and would much rather give to his family or gofundme account or even a UGA AA or St Marys fund.
I would hope his Southern account is set up just for his
needs and his family's needs instead of going to some sort of college bureaucracy that will then administer the funds.
Whatever the case I will contribute to his expenses.

Answer is, maybe, but it's Southern which is a financial shite show, so probably not.
