If we can get Clowney we'd probably be done with 5.

And Saban told him linebacker when he was being recruited. IMO, he IS a 3-4 defensive end. He's 6'7.

oh I am sure like Wilder he will get a look but good Lord these kids need to learn to listen to the coaches. They coach D1 talent and will know usually where you will maximaize your potential, but I agree with you he is built like a DE

Clowney and DePriest on the field at the same time wearing crimson, that is going to be awesome. Clowney will play DE at Alabama while DePriest will play linebacker. It will be a thing of beauty.

Really? Can you link that? All I remember him be touted as was a DE and some internet chatter about playing our Hybrib Jack LB (which is essentially a DE)

actually TT I had heard he was promised DE as well or atleast that is what I heard we signed him as. What the discussions were with him and CNS we obviously dont know but I dont think NS is lying to recruits or it would be reported by recruits

Well i heard it somewhere, i can't remember where. But one of my friends, who attends Bama, said he heard the same thing and it didn't make sense to him. I mean if you look at him, he was 6'7 220 pounds when y'all recruited him.. So adding another 20-30 pounds could put him at linebacker size.. But with the height of him he'd keep on growing. I think he'll make a good defensive end FWIW, if he can put on another 60-70 pounds. He did very well in the UAAAG.

Know about what? the rumor you posted? All I ever heard was he was going to be a DE and some talk about him playing our Jack/Hybrib DE postion. Never head that anyone promised he'd play LB. You read that on AE or ITAT ?

yeah I am more excited about him than any other player we signed las yr. Simms will be good if he can learn the offense but McCarron is a lot better than I thought he would be. We wont see Simms for two yrs imo

I wonder if McCarron goes pro after being a redshirt sophomore/junior.

Don't forget the fact that not of many of them will NOT be around for their senior year the way they are getting developed. That has to help with the selling of playing time here
