I'm glad you agree with my post. I will assume you agree with the rest of it as well.
Not really, no. You were positioning this as though it were a unique fault of Sanders. It's just how coaching goes.
And like him or hate him his coaching track record in college looks pretty good so far.

Before you open your mouth about Auburn, google Tony Barbee's resume

I hate all woke sports media darlings. Deion has been deified to the point of drooling verbal fellatio by the ESPN betas.

Very much a stretch to say he had "a bunch" of P5 guys
Fair enough. However, my choice of words was based off Deion's words about a bunch of HBCU kids proving they can play at that level.
The Jackson State transfers who made significant contributions were Travis Hunter and Deion's sons. All 3 of them received offers from just about everyone.
I guess you could include Sy'veon Wilkerson, but if I recall right, he transferred to JSU just before transferring to Colorado. The other JSU transfers were a backup kicker, back-up safety, back-up LB, and other guys I can't find on the depth chart.
Based on that, 100% of the guys who Deion was referencing were not HBCU talent but Power 5 talent.

I get "Colorado wuz kangz" vibes from him.

Where you been at? Dion isn't doing anything different than he's ever done in his entire career. Talk shite and back it up. I have no problems with how he's running his program right now. He's bringing positive exposure to Colorado, and as of right now he's backing it up

Do you have a link to any info on this case?

He beat a Morris. Pretty much everyone beats a Morris!

quote:I brought that up as a possible context for why Deion said what he said, which I don’t think he was playing the race card. If what he is saying is true then by definition, he cannot be playing the race card. Look up the definition. He said he was shunned by FSU, he said he was doubted at Jackson State. He said people trashed him for getting rid on the entire Colorado team and brought in like 60 guys, which is unheard of. He said the media roasted hm and none of them believed in him. If what he believed was true then couldn’t you see why he said what he said?
You brought that up when defending his race card playing for some reason. Why?
He’s got a chip on his shoulders. Plus, like I said before, he talks too much and says the first thing out of his head. I don’t think he intentionally tried to peddle race. I don’t see it. I think he was saying that the media see him and a bunch of other black guys (the 75 on the team) in the room, acting cocky, full of themselves and some get threatened.

quote:I said earlier football coach. Must I clarify this and that there were 5 SEC black football coaches, each time? Florida has hired black head coaches in almost every sport but they ain’t hiring a black one. That ain’t happening no time soon.
Tennessee hired a black head coach in a major sport. The first to be hired in the SEC. Wade Houston was the HC of their basketball team. Arkansas had a black basketball coach when they joined the SEC. Do you have a valid argument?
BTW, Who gives a shite about anything else but football, which is the face of the university. The football coach runs everything at these schools. They are the highest paid people in the state and can pretty much get the AD and school president fired.

A lot of people are rooting for NB now. Many bettors think this is the perfect letdown for Colorado. The line is fishy but I think especially by responses in this thread that a lot of money will come in on NB. If NB played TCU, who would win? Vegas would probably have TCU 3 TD favorites. So why wouldn’t CU be just as favored?
I think CU wins by double digits. That team has a bunch of playmAkers, NB has none. They also have a QB who looked damn good. Deion knows how to coach up DBs, QBs and WRs. That’s critical in football. Eventually, people are going to realize the guy can coach/lead a team.

If what he is saying has nothing to do with racism, and there is no decent reason to think that it has anything to do with racism, then he is playing the race card, by definition.
