I think it’s hilarious that the AP ranks bama as the 4th all-time program even with the current Saban run.

I always love when idiots put this list out.
Nebraska , Texas , and Notre Dame may have been worthy of this list 30 years ago but not now.

Replace UM and ND with Oklahoma and USC and you're all set.

I agree with this list. I think 15 years ago both Tennessee and Penn State would have deserved inclusion as well... but they've fallen back a bit.
Here's how the All-Time AP Standings looked through the year 2000 (1936-2000):
1. Notre Dame- 861
2. Michigan- 846
3. Oklahoma- 788
4. Alabama- 779
5. Nebraska- 735
6. Ohio State- 725
7. Tennessee- 617
8. USC- 594
9. Texas- 589
10. Penn St.- 578
--------------------
11. UCLA- 467
12. Auburn- 425
13. Miami- 410
14. Florida St.- 408
15. LSU- 406
16. Arkansas- 393
17. Georgia- 382
18. Michigan St.- 352
19. Florida- 344
20. Texas A&M- 329
At that time, Tennessee was #7 all time in AP Points... ahead of both USC and Texas. They were just coming off the 1998 National Title. Meanwhile Penn State was #10 but just a few points back from #9 Texas.
The big gap then was between #10 Penn State and #11 UCLA.
But since the turn of the century, Tennessee and Penn State have struggled.... as have Michigan, Notre Dame, and Nebraska, but they had a much better head start.
From 2001-2017, Michigan ranks #18... Penn State #20... Notre Dame #22... Tennessee #31... and Nebraska #32
When you look at the all-time AP Standings now (1936-2017), here is how it now looks (change in order noted from the 1936-2000 list):
1. Oklahoma- 1059 (+2 spots)
2. Alabama- 1038 (+2)
3. Ohio State- 1029 (+3)
4. Michigan- 973 (-2)
5. Notre Dame- 953 (-4)
6. USC- 832 (+2)
7. Nebraska- 783 (-2)
8. Texas- 772 (+1)
-----------
9. Tennessee- 686 (-2)
10. Penn State- 685
11. LSU- 633 (+4)
12. Georgia- 572 (+3)
12. Auburn- 572
14. Florida St.- 562
15. Miami- 530 (-2)
16. UCLA- 503 (-5)
17. Florida- 499 (+2)
18. Michigan St- 456
19. Arkansas- 439 (-3)
20. Clemson- 400 (+5)
If Nebraska and Texas keep floundering around between #20 and #30 in the AP Poll like they have for the pat 5-10 years, I think within a decade or so you could remove them from blue blood status as well.... draw the line at the Top 6.

Nebraska is on probation since they fell below .700.

The best part is UF being #10. That pissed off a LOT of people on here when it debuted a couple of years ago.

800 wins and .700 is the criteria.

For good reason. When UCLA has better concrete success in the AP Poll, you aren't deserving of the Top 10.

Michigan is NOT a Blue Blood. 2 national titles in the poll era doesn’t warrant such an honor. ZERO outright conference titles since 2003; no Rose Bowl wins since their 1997 shared NC season.
Here are the levels:
1. Alabama
2. Oklahoma, Ohio State, USC, Notre Dame
3. Texas, Nebraska, Penn State, Florida State, Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, Miami, LSU, Auburn, Clemson, Michigan
4. Washington, UCLA, Michigan State, Oregon, Stanford, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Georgia Tech, TCU, Texas A&M, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, BYU, Mississippi, Arkansas, Wisconsin, West Virginia,
5. Army, Navy, Iowa, Minnesota, Oklahoma State, South Carolina, Utah, Boise State, UCF, Iowa, Louisville, Arizona State

Texas (hardly even an afterthought to real teams)
USC (washed up has been team)

Oklahoma has more national titles and has very similar success as Ohio State. What’s your reasoning?

The only 4 that can’t be argued against.
I'd love to hear your take as to how OU isn't one of the 4 that can't be argued against.
