Errors are not "everything" via a defensive player. What if Player A's range and anticipation is so much better that he gets to way more balls, some deep in the gap where he has to try and make a throw because the bases are empty, and he just sails the ball....whereas if player B is not even getting to those balls, he's just making routine plays but in the end, the other guys more valuable because he's getting a team outs the other guy can't get.
I think the real deal is they look at who is the best prospect for MLB and go with that.
