He had inferior athletes at Wisconsin. Look at MSU and NW's "shutdown defenses." When they went up against the SEC speed on Bama and UT's offenses, they got torched. I bet Aranda fares much better with LSU's SEC level defensive talent.

Excited to see what he can do with LSU's crop of defensive talent.

Comparison is not relevant. He will have much better athletes now.

So LSU fans shouldn't be happy that LSU hired one of the best DCs in college football?
You haven't stopped melting have you? Maybe take a break from the SECr, man. It's just football.

Hey Tusc, it was good seeing you in Dallas. Here's that picture of you that you asked me to take.

Saw this posted on another site as a response to Aranda being a grand slam hire. If I were a LSU fan and read that I would be concerned. Would make me wonder if he could do it in the SEC. Man that competition he faced in the Big 10 was tough. Really good observation here:
"me check swing single than a grand slam
they played in the weakest division of the weakest conference
did not play Ohio St, Michigan St or Michigan
lost to the only 3 decent to good teams they played (Iowa, Northwestern, Alabama) and 2 of those were absolutely destroyed on their bowl game against good teams
when they did have to play Ohio St last season they lost 59-0 giving up 558 total yards
they also gave up 31 points and 450 total yards to "idiot Gus" and Auburn in the bowl game lucky for them Auburns defense was a little worse
that is the only 2 offenses they played last year with a pulse....seriously go look at their 2014 schedule
I will give him credit for shutting down 3-9 Miami(OH) 4-8 Troy 3-10 Hawaii 2-10 Purdue 4-8 Rutgers 3-9 Maryland
before they had a month to prepare for the bowl game the best team they beat was 6-7 Nebraska......barely
the best team they beat the last 2 seasons was 8-5 Auburn last season
there is a reason Wisconsin was 9-3 and unranked, because they only played 3 games and lost them, they played NINE teams with a losing record
its easy to have good stats against that level of competition"

Better than Saban's first four bowl games at Mich. St., much better.
With youth comes learning.

He's widely considered one of the best young DC's in the country right now, but we should be concerned because of some cherry picked stats by a mouth breather on a message board.....

He is a hot name that has played against a lot of inferior talent teams. Yea he had 30th ranked recruiting classes but he went up against mostly 50th ranked classes on the other side of the ball. It will be mostly even in the SEC. If the dude gives up more than 10 points in any game next year, this forum is going to blow up LSU fans for all this bragging.

This is supposed to make the LSU fans look bad? The idiocy on this board never surprises.

Hell LSUs 2011 D gave up 11 pts per game. That D is better than any D auburn has ever fielded.
I'm still seeing visions of their pussy D this year.

So if he gives up more than 10 points in a game next year he will be considered a bust to you? Wow...some of you morons are unbelievable.

Whoa, what's this, OP? I was assured by one corndog that every Bama fan thought this was a great hire.
He put those gaudy numbers against shitty offenses. Wisconsin's opponents ranked, on the average, 85th in total offenses. Hell, Bama was only 51st, and we went 35 pts/500 yards...with a qb starting his very first game. Five of Wisconsin's opponents were ranked between 102 and 120.
We've come to expect these narratives from the corndogs. You were warned about Chavis, you were warned about Steele. It's going to be fun pulling these threads up a year or two from now.

Well of course NONE of the SEC gave LSU credit when LSU hired Nick Saban from Michigan State. In fact a lot of people laughed. He was technically a nobody then!!!

Weird how Bama fans used Wisky's defense as an example of the stellar defenses they have faced this year. Now suddenly it was overrated.
Figures.

Those dudes aren't black - they just aren't as white as most of the guys on Wisconsin's team.
