I never saw anything from Adams that made me think he would be playing in the NFL. That's my two cents.

Says the guy that also needs to talk to the NCAA about overhearing 2 drunk State boosters saying they offered $50K to Cecil for Cam. I could give a frick about your 2 cents btw.

I think you are giving him too much love. I don't see anything that resembles fitzgerald's style or desire

It's the only thing they have in common...if you don't see it, you weren't watching...lemme see if I can find some highlights that illustrate this..

You got the amount wrong. And I didn't ask if you cared what I said. It's a message board and I answered the question from the OP. And I basically agreed with everyone in here. What the frick is your problem. You wanna take this outside?

Yeah, he did. In 09 he looked like a good WR. he only disappeared for the LSU game. In 2010 je didn't get near as many passes causing his averages to drop. That equates to up and down.

A product of a system has nothing to do with whether or not he will be successful or even catch on with a team in the NFL. There have been plenty of guys who had great size, speed, hands and talent, but didn't do shite in the NFL.

If he is fortunate enough to catch on with a team, his work ethic, and drive will determine whether or not he has a successful career. He will definitely have to work harder though because he doesn't have great measurables.

There are a bunch of stupid comparisons going around in this thread. So far we have Larry Fitzgerald, one of the best receivers in the NFL, and Wes Welker, one of the best possession receivers in the NFL.

Look, Darvin Adams was a good college receiver. He's got good hands and made some plays. But in the NFL, you need size, you need speed, and if you don't run crisp routes you will get eaten alive.

Also, bear in mind that it was a deep receiver year. Darvin wasn't the only guy not drafted.

Terrance Toliver has size and speed, and the hands. But he takes games off. The NFL doesn't like that, either.

Here's some research..

quote:

Adams had an up and down career while at AU.

lol, he started as a sophomore and junior. While he was a sophomore, he had 60 catches for 997 yards and 10 touchdowns. As a junior, he had 52 catches for 963 yards and 7 touchdowns. I'm not seeing an "up and down" career.

quote:

So was he a good player? Yes

quote:

So was he a product of Malzahn's system?

No.

quote:

After not getting drafted and nit performing well in the combine I say yes

He was injured and barely worked out, at all.

So you made this thread specifically because we (not you and I) had an argument that he would "amount to nothing" in the NFL?

True be told, Darvin would have put up those numbers in any system. Time in, time out, if you watched ours games, you would know he bailed out the QB many of times. Go watch the Kentucky and Clemson game from this season and get back to me. He has 4.5 speed, great route running ability, and sick hands. He'll be a great pickup for someone who needs a posession WR. And had he come back as a senior, he would've put up the same numbers again, and he would have been drafted.

He reminds me of Steve Johnson, former Kentucky WR.

Your reading comprehension is even worse than the comparisons.

This can be said for a bunch of both, Auburn and Alabama players.

Get this through your head. Darvin Adams doesn't do a single thing as good as Larry Fitzgerald. He does not have the same ball skills and instincts as Fitz, as some on this board are claiming. I repeat. He does not have the same ball skills and instincts.

And the Welker comparison is downright stupid. Darvin Adams is like half a foot taller than him.

The best comparison would be Darvin Adams and Steve Johnson.

The guy mentioned that he was a ball hawk and caught a ton of passes in traffic (hands, instincts and desire) that reminded him of Fitzgerald. No one ever claimed he was as good as Fitzgerald.

I agree it isn't the best comparison, but if someone were identifying Welker as an undersized possession receiver, that is exactly what Darvin would be in the NFL if he were to make it. Also, he mentioned a poor man's Welker, indicating that he isn't as good as Welker.

No need to get mad and no need to misrepresent what others have said.
