This thread is a train wreck

Sound of Freedom isn’t a QAnon conspiracy movie, at the same time it’s entirely possible people just see it as a mediocre movie that got ultra hyped due to the media.

OK . . . . will stop with my amusement of riling up the 4Chan crowd here.

Besides, this is all academic. I am sure the deep state will fall any day now and Hillary will finally be locked up, etc, etc.

Your lack of concern for trafficked children is disturbing.

I would opine that he's not naive at all. He's just...on the other side of this issue.

It's hard to understand, I know.

Dude's not critiquing the screenplay. He's wholly unconcerned with child trafficking, going by his comments.

That he somehow feels attacked by the movie is all I need to know.

Getting back to my point about Tua, I found his statement to be extremely ballsy.

I can't believe he said it.

Good for Tua. He's a good dude.

In a few years Tua will be recommending a movie about how the government burnt up an island in Hawaii so it could take the land from the natives.

Brilliant marketing…..spread the word that theaters won’t show or, urge people to buy multiple tickets and give them away and when seats aren’t available in mostly empty theaters pretend it’s a conspiracy. Got to love the marketing no matter what.

Yeah, it was all empty theaters.

Why are you trying to convince us people didn't actually go to see the movie?

I was trying to explain the first response. It could have been read two ways, but I get you meant it positively.

You think being against child sex trafficking is Q-Anon people?

According to Rolling Stone the entire sex-trafficking thing is grossly exaggerated.

quote:

Ballard, Caviezel, and others of their ilk had primed the public to accept Sound of Freedom as a documentary rather than delusion by fomenting moral panic for years over this grossly exaggerated “epidemic” of child sex-trafficking, much of it funneling people into conspiracist rabbit holes and QAnon communities.

I guess we should just stop worrying about it and focus more on getting pronouns right.

You do not believe that child and sex trafficking in general are real issues?

What does move the needle with you?

Maybe we should work on fixing that fact. Unless that is you are OK with it.

Isn't it the truth? I mean they said ""epidemic" of child sex trafficking"... like don't worry about it! It's only some child sex trafficking, so nothing to worry about.

You can't make this up.

Not doing any such thing….piles of people have seen it. There was also a pile of social media crap about tickets not being available (sold out) but theaters being empty for those showings. At the same time there was piles of social media crap urging people to buy multiple tickets and giving them away. Never made any claim that people weren’t going to see it, they certainly are….but conspiracy nuts are doing what they do… and the movie is reaping the benefits. It a common story….make out as if something is banned or being kept from the public and the public is far more likely to go out of their way to access it because ain’t nobody gonna tell em what they can and cannot access. It’s brilliant marketing and works with anything remotely controversial….

Based on admiring the marketing campaign of a movie that was not on the industry’s or the public’s radar which did far better than anyone expected???? It seems you have read something into my post that wasn’t there…. The movie was not promoted as most movies are….it did incredibly well despite that. At least part of that is based on erroneous rumors that theaters weren’t screening it and when they were they claimed tickets were sold out…. Which of course never happened but it fed a helluva word of mouth campaign that was more effective than standard marketing would’ve done most likely. Any book or movie or album rumored to be banned or otherwise kept from the public tends to do better….it’s brilliant.

Salt of the earth is a good example. Terrible production values which would have relegated to a few screenings and no one would remember it all. Instead it was actually banned from theaters as seditious and it is still a mainstay in film festivals and film schools.

The turner diaries is another example. Terribly written which made it have no commercial value. Failing to find a publisher the author self published claiming it was banned and it sold heaps of copies. The tactic works. It’s brilliant. I’ve heard the movie is good…ain’t seen it yet but will….but the marketing was brilliant. That’s all I said….

Wait, so if anyone is the least critical of the movie, they are a pedophile? Is that really your position?
