While I support LSU, I have always supported State when the dogs aren't playing LSU. I am looking forward to seeing the young man get after it.

I would have liked to have seen him come along a little slower. He will give it his all. I just hope it doesn't ruin him.

Hell of a ball player. I hope he has a HOF career.

Eli was thrown in fairly fast and had a rough year. Worked out well in the end though. Dak seems to have a pretty good team around him. Might not be too bad.

Best wishes to Dak, but does Dallas have any QB's with NFL experience?

Does he have the maturity, and mental ability to get over teams having tape on him is going to be the thing to watch. Can he succeed...sure. Chances of him getting washed out after his confidence gets hit hard as he lays their on the field is higher though.

There are exception to the rule, but QBs need time to mature. Like cheese-it cheeses do.

Hopefully he continues working his butt off and proving everyone wrong.

This is a tough situation though. Wish he had a bit more time as a backup, but even more difficult may be the dallas media spotlight on their qbs.

Well I called it on this very board that he was the best bargain in the draft.

No one cares for a "I was first to call it guy." especially prematurely. This is the equivalent of when your gal tells you "it's OK you r done. Thanks hon. Sweet dreams"

Nothing says the guy is going to succeed yet. He's getting thrown to the lions cause Romo gets hit a lot. Romo can scramble and yet he's beat up. Good chance the 3rd string QB gets playing time this year.

I agree. Dak's a good dude. Can't wait for the Dak v. Eli showdown on 9/11.

It'll be interesting to see how he does. Lots of weapons there...mostly sane Dez Bryant, great line, Zeke Elliot, Witten. He could be in for a big year unless Romos spine thing is contagious.

The benefit for Dak is he has the best offensive line in football in front of him and solid skill position players. He is going to do just fine for the Cowboys.

Just keep him away from spring break.

Dak IS the 3rd string QB. Gonna be a long year for Dallas.

The offense is set up well for an inexperienced QB. Great line, stable of running backs, Dez Bryant and Jason Witten. They don't need Dak to do very much except distribute the ball to the playmakers.

BUT, their defense looks awful. So instead of just managing the game, the offense is going to need to score a lot of points. There's not a lot of room for error.

This would all be great for a solid pocket QB. A scrambler not so much. Romo has had the same, and see where he is. Dak's body is going to be feeling it soon enough. Slowing him down game by game most likely.

Cowboy fans are the "preseason champs" of the NFL.

Russell Wilson played with the poise of a seasoned vet in his rookie year and since. Dak seems to have that same poise and confidence needed to get the job done from day one.

Let me see... Romo out. Kellen Moore out (broken ankle). I think that makes Dak #1...

Cowboys are considering obtaining a "veteran" option to shore up the depth chart. I am sure at this time of pre season some will come available.

Matt Flynn? any body have Matt Flynn's phone number?
