But he told The Inside Read that if he’s projected as a first-round pick, he’ll leave early after his this year. He’d also strongly consider going if he’s a second- or third-round pick.

Marshall

He'll go 6th round as DB in 2015

Prescott will go second round in 2016

What does this mean then?

Only Dak would know, but I would imagine if State wins the National Title, and he is projected in the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd round, He Gone.

How so? The tile implies that if he is projected 1st, 2nd, or 3rd rd he is for sure gone.

That quote says 1st round = Gone, 2nd or 3rd = would consider going.

I don't think State fans will slight him if he leaves. He's a major reason why they're 6-0 and ranked #1. He's also the Heisman frontrunner.

He is easily the best player in Mississippi State history if he continues his current season averages.

He states:

quote:

He added: “When the time came and there’s an option, first, second or third round and I had the season I wanted to have, I’d go.”

For the record, I dont think he leaves if 2nd or 3rd rd projection, which he's not likely to be projected anyway.

I know I won't. If he has that kind of season, I will thank him and be excited about who will be the next great QB that Mullen will develop.

Best MSU player ive ever seen. Slighting him would be idiotic.

I think bold is the key. Still not a definite that he would leave if 2nd or 3rd round projection as the title implies.

Fair enough, though I draw a different conclusion from it. Whatever happens, happens.

He still has a way to go with his passing skills..so I kind of doubt he gets projected that high. Who knows...best of luck to him.

He could use a senior year, and this seems to be the opinion of a lot of scouts, though unclear if that's the majority opinion.

Kinda torn on this. Kid has a dream and has already done so much for State just halfway through this year. His throwing mechanics aren't the best in the world so top 3 rounds might be his peak. On the other hand, come back and hang around a good QB coach such as Mullen who would put way more time into developing him. Hopefully become a better passer, and whether he increases his draft stock significantly, he could greatly increase his actual chances of starting the NFL.

Either way, I would support him in his decision and wouldn't be devastated if he left early.

I have a hard time believing he is the Heisman frontrunner. He barely completed 50 percent of his passes with 2 interceptions against Auburn

I think at best he gets a 3rd round projection. He is one of the top college QBs, but he isn't NFL ready. His passing needs work before he can play at that level. His running ability is useless in the nfl

No fanbase should ever slight a kid for leaving early if he's projected to get drafted.
