Gracious OU Guy, some of your pitchers names sound like super heros.
LJ Mercurious and Cord Rager!
I immediately want to change my name to Cord Rager. A combo of courdoroy pants and an all night party is hard to beat.

Lots of Johnsons on that list.

This is going to be a tough year for OU. Its a very young team and we’ll take a lot of lumps.
Looking at our conf away series is brutal. All 5 of Oklahoma’s road SEC series were top 6 national seeds last season. Just like in football they gave us the tough road.

Hoping ours are bigger than everyone else's.

All right y'all! Time for Alabama to have a great record in out of conference play against nobodies before getting rocked in conference play!
It's tradition!
You can *bet* on it

He was here last year. Flamed out. But Skip is a great pitching coach and with a full off season and using last year’s info I’ll be curious if he can then him around. Kid has mega potential if Skip can harness it. We’ll see today how he starts. His talent is worth the gamble but I understand LSU letting him go with the talent they had at that time. This was always a gamble by Skip.

He definitely has high-end stuff, but his control has been abysmal. 41 walks and 10 HBP in 30 college innings is pretty wild. If he could lower that walk rate to 4 or even 5 per 9 innings, he could be a weapon.

I think thats why Skip took the gamble. Worst case he flames out again and you lost nothing due to how many pitchers you have rostered. But if Skip can help him control his pitches that would be a game changer due to how high a ceiling he has. This year’s team is not a title contender so you can gamble more.
I’m curious to see how he does today but since its opening day want to see him over 3 or starts to get a better idea. Lots of pitchers get opening day jitters.
Another note. He got benched last year and lots of players would have transferred out to a smaller school. The fact he stayed tells me he believes in Skip to help him and stayed. And likewise, Skip could have pushed him out but didn’t. And Skip knows pitching. That gives me hope.

Cameron Johnson goes 1-2-3 in the 1st with a pair of strikeouts and a foul pop out
He looked very sharp. Great sign for Can but its way too early. No walks though

How do you watch FloCollege? We had some games last year on that and I can't remember.
I hate how ESPN outright rejects college baseball but has plenty of time to push the softball heifers on us.

He got out of it afterwards which is signs of growth. Last year that turns into a 3 to 5 run inning. To me thats encouraging.

Bottom 3rd, Cam gives up a leadoff infield single. Then gets out of it by FC and 2 strikeouts. Really pitching so much better than last year so far. He would get so rattled last year.

Well damn. We loaded the bases twice in 4 innings and can’t scratch any runs over the plate. Can is pitching well but bats letting us down so far. Still 0-1

Cam Johnson works around a leadoff walk with a 4-6-3 double play and another strikeout
He's done his part keeping OU in this despite the lack of offense so far
Come on hitters! We need runs
