ou absolutely would hire Dabo at Alabama if he was available and Saban retired and Kirby Smart said no.
Either way, guys like Saban don't grow on trees so there's bound to be more struggles there after him.
What do you mean "more struggles"? Even in Bama's worst seasons they've still performed better than the 'horns'.

He's such a dipshit.

Dabo has too big of an ego to admit when he’s wrong. He was wrong about DJ (and many many other things!) but he will go down with the sinking ship just to say “I’m right, you’re wrong!”

Most coaches will want to leave their programs now that the CFP is about to be 12 teams. Whoever follows Saban is heading for doom. The expectations will be the same and the PTB will be looking for control.

Remember when he said he’d quit when players got paid?
Didn't he just do exactly the opposite?

quote:To be fair he’s done this twice. Freshman Deshaun Watson took over Cole Stoudt’s job (game 4). Watson played great but got injured missing the majority of the season. Trevor Lawrence took over Kelly Bryant’s job (game 4 again). Kelly took them to the CFP the year before.
As a coach you have to make that call and put the guy who gives you the best chance to win in.

Beamer acts just like him. That is a fact, Dabo just gets more exposure due to the success.

Nah baw, we’re going after either Kiffin or Sark if he’s got Texas halfway respectable by then. Maybe Mario down at Miami.
Career FBS Records
Lane Kiffin: 77-41 (.653)
Steve Sarkasian: 52-42 (.553)
Mario Cristobal: 63-60 (.512)
good move keeping expectations low

Isn't blindly hiring the guy with the best W/L record how this happened?

Unless one of those three guys actually wins an NC before Ms. Terry whispers "It's time" in her hubby's ear, hiring any of them - especially at the market price - would be a huge letdown.

Any hire is going to be a letdown. Just have to hope whoever it is has their own proven style and organization and is mentally tough enough to deal with what will be an incredibly tough situation.

Lane Kiffin has won more conference championships than either of your last three head coaches and as many as Tommy Tuberville.
Lake Kiffin hasn’t beaten Auburn as a head coach.

Another bama gump. Saban wasn’t at LSU when bama hired him. He left the NFL Miami Dolphins.
