Ray Tanner has now led South Carolina to a 15-2 record in elimination games in the CWS tournament. That's almost too unreal to believe.....

How is this right? This is our 6th under Tanner, 2 2 we weren't eliminated in. Then there is this season, 2 we were obviously eliminated in by that record so doesn't that leave 1 elimination game in which we lost?

It doesn't have to make sense. Perry Costello will give a free pass for them.

huh??? You don't have to actually be eliminated, to be in elimination games.....you can actually win those, too. Hence the above outstanding overall record. We've already played in three elimination games this season alone: 1 versus Kent State, and now two versus Arkansas.
You know we've played 4 elimination games versus Clemson in 2002 and 2010, going 4-0 in them. There's 7 of them there. Plus the other elim. games versus Oklahoma and Ariz. St. in 2010, plus the others in the early 2000s CWS appearances....

I guess if you count the 2002 championship game with Texas as a single elimination game - that was back when the title was decided with a single game, instead of a best 2 of 3 series - as a single elim. game, then it's 15-3...still damn impressive....

I just now got the chance to read through this thread, and overall I'm not surprised.
For the first 5 minutes after the game was over, I was furious. Ever since, I've just been sad.
I didn't come out of this stupid, though. I still want the Cocks to 3peat. I just want that umpire to have his current car and every other car he purchases in his life to be set on fire. Or maybe have like a rotation of people to egg his house.
I'm sad we lost. It's disappointing that such a big game with SO much on the line had such shitty umpires. Wish it could have been settled differently, but there are no do-overs, so I'll just be sad.
Good Luck South Carolina and I hope y'all win your 3peat!

As for this, though.
How disappointing.

No dog in this hunt - the plate umpire was atrocious all night and most certainly seemed to favor Carolina. Funny how all the corner ring ups were against the hogs, but those very close calls that walked runs in, well, they were off the plate to that bat.
SEC wins either way but Arkansas really did get a raw deal out there tonight.

Pitch #6 was Ball 4 that walked in the go-ahead run.
Just for reference.

Thanks. I'm about to make a thread with this and other screen caps...

That pitch #6 looks to be a borderline pitch....could go either way, and an argument can be made for either call. In this case, the call went against Arkansas' way.....
