You blew it, Vandy.

It happens. If only some other SEC team had been good enough to reach the championship series in our place...hmmm....pity none of the others were.

Oh, and congratulations. Sorry, I had to work out whatever it was stuck in my craw before I could speak.

moral victory: LSU is still the only SEC team that's undefeated in championship series/games in Omaha

Don't worry Vandy fans. Georgia fans know what it's like to lose the CWS in three games to a crappy seed.

This UVA team was a preseason top 5 team that got killed by injuries. Only reason they were a 3 seed. They are very talented team that put it together and was scrappy as hell down the stretch.

This. I thoroughly enjoyed this series. Both teams were great. Glad for UVA, but Vandy has nothing to hang its head about. Just wasn't their night, and UVA played beyond themselves.

Congrats on the run Vandy!

But sorry, I like Virginia.
Awesome school, amazing campus. Their fans were awesome when Auburn played them in Chick-fil-la Bowl after 2011. Most of them just looked like they were wealthy and would be stuck up, but they were easily the most agreeable fans at any sporting event I've ever attended. Friendly, but not overly so like some fanbases. Not obnoxious in the least. Clearly very used to losing and take it great (I assume they comfort themselves afterwards with bags of money)

Congrats to VA. Clearly got outplayed last two games as the bats went silent. Eerily similar to some of Vandys mid season struggles in series vs USC and OM.

Losing all 3 in rotation and 2,3,4 hitters but still bring back a lot of talent and experience. 3 Freshmen All Americans and adding the 2016 loaded class I expect a 10-20 type of finish next year, maybe better if some of Fr are as good as advertised.

In '17 & '18 Vandy will be one of the favorites nationally to win it again.

How is your pitching looking next year. Big losses with buhler and fulmer.

vandy reloads every year. seems like their entire staff throws 90+, and their recruiting class this year is absurd. they have something like 5 BA top 100 prospects that are going to make it to campus

I think it will shake out like this:

Friday - Kyle Wright (Fr All American)
Saturday - John Kilokowski
Sunday - Jordan Sheffield

Midweek - Chandler Day/Donny Everett (both top 100 prospects by BA that are coming to campus) along with 3 other top 100 guys.

Bullpen - Hayden Stone back from TJ surgery and hopefully healthy to close.

Wright, Kilichowski, Bowden, Sheffield all return. Hayden Stone (a freshman All-American in 2014) will return from Tommy John surgery. Highly rated signess should also contribute. Not a ton of experience, but the talent should be there.

How in the world did he look at that 3rd strike?

There is absolutely NO excuse for that. Not in that situation.

Fullerton kinda got ripped being up on Vandy and one out away from the game being called complete at 7 innings.

Still a fine run.
