I was an atheist my whole life. I didn’t care about church or the Bible or anything. I went to church, but that was because I grew up in a small town and if I hadn’t it would have raised some eyebrows. Then I go off to college and learn just how perfect the human body is, how efficient it is, and how smart we humans truly are. If we were to make a computer that had the same processing power as the human mind, it would be a 60 story building in size and require 4 Olympic size swimming pools to keep cool. To assume that all of this perfection is the result of random is ludicrous. Not to mention that the laws of physics don’t allow for this. You see random cannot create order. It can’t happen. Yet we see order everywhere. The only way random can create order is if something intelligent intervenes.

I don’t believe he actually doesn’t believe. I think he’s been hurt once before so badly that the idea of a just and caring God simply didn’t seem like a reality to him. He knows I’m his heart that there is a God, but he is denying God as a means to get vengeance back at God for God allowing him to endure whatever hardship he faced.

Correct. He has also built up such a great deal of pride and anger that admitting this to be true would hurt him as much as the original pain/hardship.

I think you're probably reading in to it too much or assuming some things about him. He's doing this (riling you and others up) for entertainment, which I usually would endorse but here it's just kind of boorish and the whole "let me troll these Christians with my edgy atheism" is very, very dated. It isn't a good look.
