Oh I’ll take the blame for trump, and the roaring economy, and the lowest unemployment rate since the 40’s, and the return of good trade policies that benefit Americans... and all of the other great things.

I don’t give a dang what you think of him. I just know the economy is doing great, he’s fixing the unfair trade in which the other countries were taking advantage of us, and people who couldn’t find jobs previously are finding jobs. Not to mention that trump is addressing criminal justice reform.

He would have been born during the week of 11 September 3 BC

Okay. When do we celebrate his birth?
And how does it change what he said? The sentiment?

EKG, same to you buddy.

... and to Loserman or Data or whomever it was that claimed Jesus was born 11 Sept 3 BC, no he wasn’t. God the Father and his sweet baby son Jesus are too good to have been born during football season. Especially the first week of conference play.

Now, Mary may have been due that weekend but she knew better and held out until, at least back then ... she held out until after bowl season was over. The left coasties came along when Jesus was 7 and said they must have their Rose Bowl “Jesus be Damned!”

So Jesus damned them and said they would always be a bunch of commie socialist progressive figs out there and that they would rarely experience greatness as God’s chosen people in the Southeast do.

Now, where most people get Christmas wrong is thinking that it’s a snowy bright red and white thing when, in fact, it’s a gold and blue and emerald green thing because everyone knows Norte Dame was Jesus’ team for a long time and that Jesus was one of ND’s more famous behind the scenes analysts. But then they went against God’s will and hired that bastard Bob Davie and then really pissed off the big guy by hiring George O’Leary .... oooooo boy that almost cost’em, more than they know.

So God and Jesus looked around, talked to one of their old pals up there, The Bear, and decided to give Bama a try for a little while because they knew if that didn’t work out, or if they get bored, or if Saban tries to make another power move on them again like he did back in the day, (yeah, that’s right, he’s that Saban. The Bible got that one letter off ... rumors are true, should’uv been a B not a T in the Bible, but anyways, y’all already knew that) but if he tries to make a move on them again they’ll have plenty of other options in the SEC to smile down upon with their grace and good bounces of the ball. Also, the weather is better, the girls are prettier and the Irish down here are solid people, whiskey and beer makers who get along with the Scots and Germans and Dutch ... Black Irish, Ulster Irish reared in the low country and foothills unlike the factory working socialist commie progressive potato Irish figs up there that really don’t know doodly squat about good college football.

Anyways.

Merry Christmas SECr!

I meant to say he’s a dumb version of Nixon. Nixon was a smart and informed president who went wrong. Trump is just an imbecile.

What a shite show this thread is. This is all pretty simple, no reason for folks to get all emotional. Atheists are typically pricks towards those spreading beliefs they disagree with. Similarly, Christians are judgmental pricks towards those who don’t mirror their world view. It shouldn’t be this way but it is, and has been for millennia. But none of this changes the fact that this type of post shouldn't be on this board.

I do take some issue with the part about the economy. Is fiscal conservatism important to you? If so, do you have concerns about the insane deficits we are running (both absolute and as % GDP)? This had begun to stabilize after the Great Recession but we are now seeing it creeping out of control again. I’m not sure I’ve seen such reckless spending during a “good” economy.

Take this shite to the off topic board and I wouldn’t even reply.

The opposite is more true.

What a believer fears is that there is an existence after this life is over.

Celebrating his birth is pretty useless.

Celebrate his death and resurrection instead.

A believer knows there is life after death. We give thanks for Gods grace and the fact that we will be in his presence for eternity.

Not true. Responding to insults on our intelligence does not make us judgmental pricks. I am a sinner like anyone else. I have compassion on others because I was once angry like they are.

Never said it couldn't be. I was speaking in terms of this thread. Christians weren't the ones that started this. I reserve the right to respond to insults on my intelligence. I have no anger toward atheists. I pray that they are shown the same grace that God showed to me. I'm an a-hole on a regular basis. I'm just thankful for Jesus' sacrificial death because of which I won't have to pay the price for my own sinfulness.

A believer knows

No. He had it right.

On another note, no man can deny there is a God and that He, the one and only, is the true God.

For God’s wrath is revealed from heaven against all godlessness and unrighteousness of people who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth, since what can be known about God is evident among them, because God has shown it to them. For His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen since the creation of the world, being understood through what He has made. As a result, people are without excuse. For though they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God or show gratitude. Instead, their thinking became nonsense, and their senseless minds were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man, birds, four-footed animals, and reptiles. Therefore God delivered them over in the cravings of their hearts to sexual impurity, so that their bodies were degraded among themselves. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served something created instead of the Creator, who is praised forever. Amen.

Romans 1:18-25 HCSB

Repent and believe the Gospel

He also said to them, “This is what is written: The Messiah would suffer and rise from the dead the third day, and repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Luke 24:46-47 HCSB

Jesus is the only way

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

John 14:6 HCSB

There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people, and we must be saved by it.”

Acts 4:12 HCSB

Christ took our sin upon himself and was crushed under the wrath of the Father (Isaiah 53) so we could be made righteous and free from penalty by his blood.

For while we were still helpless, at the appointed moment, Christ died for the ungodly. For rarely will someone die for a just person — though for a good person perhaps someone might even dare to die. But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us! Much more then, since we have now been declared righteous by His blood, we will be saved through Him from wrath. For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, then how much more, having been reconciled, will we be saved by His life! And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We have now received this reconciliation through Him.

Romans 5:6-11 HCSB

I pray this blesses someone. I usually feel like posting about Christ on the internet amounts to very little, but this time I felt compelled.

Christians are far from perfect. We sin. We mess us, but we are repentant and quick to ask for forgiveness because we know what Christ has done for us. We seek to live in a way that pleases our Lord, because we know His love for us.

Christians are just like everyone else. We've all sinned (more times than we can count - in our mother's womb we were sinners! -Psalm 51) and fallen short of God's glorious standard. But God is his mercy, sent His Son to die in love for mankind and has reconciled all who truly believe unto himself. Anyone in Christ is forgiven their sins and walks in fellowship with Christ through his Holy Spirit.

As we walk with God, he changes us. He sanctifies us, making us come more into agreement with his Word and commandments day by day. It's trying and difficult, but it's the only life worth living.

In my former life I was immersed in every type of debauchery known to man. I was vile, deplorable, and wretched. In spite of all this, God had mercy on me and gave me grace. He gave me what I didn't deserve, he gave me His Son. Ever since that day I've been a new man. Not without failure as I have sinned, but I am being transformed and blessed by God to know him and walk with Him.

It's God that saves. It's God that sanctifies. It's God that gets all glory. Man in and of himself will never be righteous, but Christ's righteoussness, Christ's righteous, will live forever in His presence.

Blessings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!
