College football needs to cut this shite out. Can you imagine the outcry if the NFL ended the regular season and didn't start the playoffs for a month? The old fricks in the head offices better get with the times or get gone.

It's been this way for over 60 years.

Anyone who thinks it's better to not have a bye is stupid and often falls for confirmation bias.

As of right now teams who got a bye in the first round are 0-6. That’s not confirmation bias that’s a statistic.

Yea, it was usually BOTH teams had to wait 25-26 days to play each other....

It has, bowl games have always been played a month after the season ended.

Even during the BCS and playoffs, some teams played in conference championships and some teams did not. Why didn't LSU play better against Alabama in 2011 since they had to play in the SECCG? I was told for years that it was a disadvantage for LSU, now suddenly it's an advantage.

If you think Ohio St was at a disadvantage last night because Miami had to play A&M the week before, then that's dumb.

You're part of the problem. "WE CAN'T CHANGE IT'S ALWAYS BEEN THIS WAY!!!!" At the same time you're probably applauding NIL and the shite show that's become.

You failed to add context and as a result, your stat is stupid and leads you believe stupid shite.

Such as the fact that last year the teams with byes were AQ teams that probably shouldn't have even been there to start with in some cases, and almost every one of those 6 losses were teams that were expected to lose.

In reality, there has been a total of 1 actual upset, last night.

It's been changing my entire life dumbass. Hell, change for the sake of change is why we have this stupid arse 12 team playoff to start with.

It's not my fault you make shitty arguments.

You didn't make an argument, idiot. You stated that "things are they way are, oh well!" Offered zero substance for trying to change.

bowl games

What does that have to do with the Queen of England?

OP is talking about CFP. Good grief.

Keeping a team engaged and focused for 3-4 weeks for a game with big implications is much different than a fun matchup with a sponsored game that is mostly meaningless where many kids (and coaches now) are opting out anyways.

Your hot take is really just warm dogshit.

You do understand we've been crowning national champions for many decades right? And since the late 60s and early 70s that has come after bowl games and teams having to wait and entire month before playing them.

Having an extra bye week has been considered a bonus for as long as I can remember. Now suddenly as a result of 6 games, you stupid fricks think it's disadvantage.

I'm starting to notice you are constantly here saying stupid shite.

You are laughably stupid. It's not a single week off. The last time tech played was 12/6/25. It is now 1/1/26. I'll do that math for you, dumbass. That's 26 days off. Take a 26 day Vacation and go back to work. I guarantee you it'll take some time to get back to proficiency.

I understand A&M fans aren't familiar with the process of choosing a national champion, but this amount of wait time is normal for teams playing for the championship.

Now you know.

No it hasn't.

Prior to the 12 team playoff, you might have a team who played in the CCG who had a game a week more recently than their opponent, but for the most part the two teams playing in any game had the same amount of layoff.

Now, we have teams who played 26 days ago... nearly 4 weeks... playing teams who played 12 days ago.

That's a pretty significant difference.

We're not talking about the NFL where the teams with byes are off 14 days compared to 7 for the team that had to play in the first round. That's a benefit to the bye team.

We're talking about the team with the bye being off for a month compared to 2 weeks for the team without the bye.

Yeah, the team with the bye has the advantage.

Could it be that maybe the results have something to do with the fact the committee doesn't take SoS into account in how they rank teams and thus teams are likely getting ranked higher than they should be? Highlighted by the fact that outside last nights game, the favorite to win the game has won them?

Nah, it's gotta be that playing a really tough team the week before your game is an advantage right?
