I bet the argument over whether a decade starts on 0 or 1 makes your brain melt.
And whether it is 4 linear years, or 5 calendar years, changes nothing. It surprises me not at all that you would be hyper focused on a detail that does not matter.

I pointed out that NIL hadn't been around for 5 years and the portal was much different 5 years ago. You freaked out and started flinging insults around.

This exactly. All of us were “of course the poor player should be able to make some money off the big corporate system that is using them to make money”. It was never intended to be this pay-for-play setup with 50% roster turnovers every year.
Lots of people complain about the NFL because their favorite players get traded away. College football is now worse than the NFL.
ESPN actually had a documentary on the last few years of NIL. Texas Tech was featured for a segment and their billionaire donor was way ahead of the pack in pushing the legal limits to maximize NIL. Others are now catching up.

I am for the transfer portal and NIL. The NCAA has chosen to implement it in the dumbest possible way. The majority of the sport needs an overhaul from the calendar, to conferences, to the nil/transfer portal.
