Bobo called one of the most confusing drives I've seen this year against Ole Miss. Despite having run for 400+ yards, Bobo decided to throw it on 4 straight plays. Maybe the QB misread the RPO 2-3 times but it made no sense. They ended up turning it over on downs and Ole Miss scored on the next drive to go up 2 touchdowns and essentially ended it. I think there was like 8-9 minutes left at this point so time wasn't really a factor.

So obvious health concerns aside, you firmly believe that Nick Saban of all people would let multiple players onto the field infected with a disease that could somehow affect their performance during the game?

As opposed to letting a healthy, four or five star replacement take their place for one week?

Alright.

So is there evidence to suggest that multiple teams who played Alabama got struck down with huge testing numbers the week after? Because I would imagine several teams would've been hobbled in a bad way due to this recklessness, right?

Contact tracing took most of the player out. Easy to establish your own protocol. Ask OSU.

You are comparing Apples to Oranges, especially based on a Covid year. I know you are big on stats, and you know my feelings on CF stats, but to compare anything using the Covid numbers is foolish. Look at LSU, you think they were a .500 if Covid didn't happen ?

He was comparing SEC only numbers.

Will Friend had signed his new contract and will owe South Carolina $100k for two weeks worth of "work" in Columbia. At least we got that out of the deal.

I don't know of any teams that didn't lose a starter for COVID reasons.

Northwestern.

They didn't even have a positive test until Christmas Eve.

Totally shocked by that when the stated that at the Bowl Game. Knowing that NW is just outside Chicago makes me question those numbers even more.

The Friend thing, I mean I get it because he's Bobo's guy, but his work at Georgia and Tennessee was pretty bleh. That Tennessee group this year was as underwhelming as I can remember in a while for their talent level.

I was hoping for Stacy Searels who had worked with Bobo at UGA and Harsin at Texas, and played at Auburn. He’s a great Oline coach and seemed like the perfect fit.

TBH, I have no idea. I don't have the resources to know that answer

Yet, you know that they’re not the answer? I get people being skeptical of Bobo and I’m not a fan of the Friend hire, but Mason was about as good as we could hope for.
