You are comparing Apples to Oranges, especially based on a Covid year. I know you are big on stats, and you know my feelings on CF stats, but to compare anything using the Covid numbers is foolish. Look at LSU, you think they were a .500 if Covid didn't happen ?

Its not all on Morris from that one year but it is really crazy how bad he has been with QBs the last three years.

So you think that using anything from this past year is dumb but that he looked better this past year?

Throw out stats then, I guess - you thought that Bo Nix looked like a better QB in 2020 based on the way he managed the game, played, led, etc compared to 2019?

If so, you would be one of the very few - Auburn person or non-Auburn person.

What assistant coaches have buyouts?

That's a real quest8ion, because I don't know. I thought most of those guys were year to year. I know Steele had a 2 year deal, but I think that was rare.

Most are, but the shane train ain't no bitch. Got all his boys on multi year deals. Word is we are going to be enforcing both buyouts.

Edit: every coach has a 2 year deal but lembo who got a 3 year deal

He looked better with who he threw to and where he threw the ball. He still did not trust the pocket, but we know why. Like I said Covid affected most teams and teams they played against. I said early that Clemson would be in the Championship Game because they took a big hit pre-season with Covid. I just expected that there would be a uniformed testing and reporting system. Amazing how some never lost a starter or a significant player to the virus.

Are you referring to a team that didn't lose a starter or significant player specifically?

That would be quite an accomplishment - what team was it?

I don't know of any teams that didn't lose a starter for COVID reasons. You seem to be implying there was one, though?

I don't know. I know Missouri and Vandy played some games with double figure players missing. I know AU lost a few impact players during season. Who did Bama lose to the virus ?

Evan Neal was unavailable against Arkansas, presumed to be due to COVID. We had 8 guys out against Kentucky. We had 4 assistant coaches, including basically the entire defensive staff, unable to travel to LSU (Sunseri, Scott, Wiggins, Roach). Saban missed the Auburn game.

And of course, like Clemson, we had a large number of kids test positive in the summer and upon returning to campus - including our QB.

Missing coaches is totally different than missing players. Remember, Bama has a support staff that equals two normal P5 coaching staffs. So Neal supposedly missed the ARKANSAS game due to Covid. Who were the 8 Players who missed the KENTUCKY game.

I would've bet good money that Steele was a bad hire at the time, but he consistently proved me wrong.

This.

I posted the stats when he was hired that showed every single defense he'd ever taken over got worse his first year, continued to decline under his leadership, and immediately got better after he left. I was sure he'd continue that pattern, but to his credit something finally clicked and he did a very good job at Auburn.

Not moving the goal post, just amazed at the immune system of the Starters at Bama and the timing of those affected. If you have two games to pick to be sick during pre-season discussions, you would probably have one or both on the list.

Like Saban missing the Iron Bowl?

If Alabama was doing something shady with testing, why would they choose to sit out the head coach against their biggest rival?

Maybe because he was actually symptomatic and 70 years old.

So then every player that they've let onto the field this year dripping with COVID just happened to be asymptomatic.

Amazing how well the plan worked out.
