They played one of the toughest schedules in the country. Notre Dame played the 43rd hardest schedule. Alabama only had two regular season losses. Their third loss was in an extra title game Notre Dame didnt have to play. Notre Dame should not benefit for not playing in a conference where they will never have to worry about an extra game but will get the benefit of the doubt for not playing in a conference. Thats BS, and always has been.
If we start punishing teams with top ranked SOS's for losing a third game in their title game, then we're mudding the waters even more than what they are. Making the conference title game is a tough a$$ accomplishment and allowing teams, especially in the same conference who didnt make it, to jump over them is pure screwed up.
Bama deserved to be in and the real problems are JMU and Tulane taking up two spots, not Alabama.

It didn’t prove that. It proved Bama can’t beat Georgia that day, but that doesn’t mean we couldn’t have beaten Notre Dame.
