I have read this entire thread, sounds like his entire recruitment could've been handled better. If he doesn't know or didn't have someone with sense enough to see the eventual outcome caused by his decisions, shame on them all. He is getting just what he asked for. Shame on him for putting his family in that situation. He enjoyed his recruitment process now he and his family can live the consequences. If he didn't want to go to Auburn, there were a hundred other schools he could've gone to and not got that reaction.
I really don't get the vitriol towards his recruitment. I could understand if he had a situation similar to Dalvin Cook where he was clearly leading on the coaching staff.
Let's review:
1.) Grandpa's party: I dont necessarily think he initiated having both sets of coaches there. If anything, his parents allowed it because both coaching staffs pushed for that day. Why wouldn't both coaching staffs push for that time? It is the last day before the quiet period. Heck, Gus should have tried to get him to visit on campus Sunday. I don't think it was a case of Rashaan begging both staffs to be there. Quite the opposite IMO.
2. Stephen Roberts/Jakell Mitchell being at his announcement. It's easy to assume that he set them up. Maybe they asked him if he could be there during his OV a couple weeks ago. He could've told them he wasn't sure where he was going. Per his own testimony, he wasn't sure until the night before, and even then he had doubts and kept an AU hat under the table. It's possible that he didn't know at the time that Roberts asked him.
Side note: it's not like Roberts did the greatest job with his recruitment either. He was committed to Bama "100%" while he was visiting AU every weekend. He was even recruiting for AU while being a Bama commit.
Welcome to big boy recruiting.

That's pretty fricked up. There's no way to defend that type of behavior. Ever.
It is,and all sides do it. Some people need to live a little more and realize that there is life beyond fall Saturdays.

How about 90% of Lee County?

Bravo. Your fanbase denies this behavior, even when documented. Well done my man.

You think football is that important? It's a damn game, that none of us are playing. There's no reason to trash an 18 year old kid because he doesn't choose your team.

Remember when this guy switched from Bama to Auburn?

Glad Bama ended up w/ him though.

As recently as December, Calloway told the Florence (Ala.) TimesDaily that his commitment to Alabama was solid. So the reaction to his change of heart was far from positive and came from all directions. After announcing his new decision live on national television during Saturday’s U.S. Army All-American Bowl, the negativity came Calloway’s direction by way of social networking websites. “I got things saying they hope I break my legs,” Calloway told The TimesDaily. “I’ve had death threats. They hope I lose my scholarship. A bunch of crazy stuff. The list goes on and on. I’m still getting it. I say, for at least the next two or three days, it’s going to be pretty crazy. After a week or so, it will die down and everything will be fine up to signing day.”
Glad Bama ended up w/ him though.

Or more like Auburn fans deflecting because TNM loves posting negative articles about
Alabama. So who would have thought Auburn has shitty fans as well. Problem is since they don't have any side walkers this must be an alumnus trashing a high school kid.

I do NOT like any of this behavior from the Auburn fans. RaShaan Evans is going to Alabama, and that's his choice. Should he and his parents gone about it in a better way? Yes, absolutely.
However, Alabama fans need to take a step back and look at the stupidity that is displayed on a daily basis within their fanbase. Are they all absolute morons with no regards for future repercussions? No, but they are in the news more than any of fanbase thanks to some noteworthy morons. From Harvey Updyke poisoning Auburn's historical trees, to Bryan Downey tea-bagging a guy in public, to the Alabama fan killing the other Alabama fan... Oh, did I forget to mention death threats to Cade Foster?
This is a cake walk compared to what Alabama fans would be doing if the roles were switched.

Typical Alabama recruit victim mentality
"why are people mad at me???"

Hell they kill their own fans if they do not take a loss hard enough.

I really don't get the vitriol towards his recruitment

"They" as in every fan kills every other fan after a loss? Talk about painting with broad strokes. You might need to take a step back and enjoy your friends and family more IRL.
