I have read this entire thread, sounds like his entire recruitment could've been handled better. If he doesn't know or didn't have someone with sense enough to see the eventual outcome caused by his decisions, shame on them all. He is getting just what he asked for. Shame on him for putting his family in that situation. He enjoyed his recruitment process now he and his family can live the consequences. If he didn't want to go to Auburn, there were a hundred other schools he could've gone to and not got that reaction.

I am detecting racial undertones in the Auburn fanbases' reaction to the Evans signing. They're masking their racism with faux outrage over his decision to commit to Alabama.

I was sensing this too.

That's dumb. So he shouldn't go to a school he wants to because of some dumb fans that go to a rival school?

It's hilarious that a kid "asks for" his personal life to be made a living hell after he chooses to attend the school he wants to go to. Some of you need to get a grip. It's football, it's not that big of a deal.

Of course, leave it to a LSU fan that thinks just because a kid lives in Louisiana, they should go to LSU.

Just because Rashaan lived in the city of Auburn, doesn't mean he has to go to the school that is closest to him. He fits Bama's defense better anyway.

The man on twitter that was talking shite to Rashaan has pictures of his wife and kids on his twitter. Wonder how he would feel, if his kid got trash-talked on twitter.

So you condone mistreatment of a kid because of his college choice?

No you ignorant fricking gump, His family has a business there. That is the first priority. That business pays the fricking bills. Yes that is more important than where he plays football. Now when he is in the NFL it won't be so important maybe, but right now it has to be first consideration. I don't believe in downing recruits but damn dude. My ten year old daughter could figure that out.

Same way Cade Fosters family felt in November 2011 when got deaths threats and in November 2013 when he got death threats

GTFOH with that high ground BS because no fan base especially a Bama fan can claim that crown

Damn, grown men doing this.

quote:

Rashaan Evans, five-star linebacker from Auburn High School in Ala., believes he made the right decision for his future when he signed with Alabama on Wednesday.

There are plenty of people who support Evans regardless of his decision, but every fan base has a few immature individuals who take the decision of a high school stranger too personal. Those fans vent frustration on message boards and or social media.

"It's getting worse," Evans said on Monday evening. "Someone actually put out an article about my family's business telling all Auburn fans not to go there. We are going to eventually start losing money. People are telling restaurants in the town not to serve us.

"It's hard for me to go out and chill with my friends like I have always done because people keep coming up to me telling me I made a bad decision. It's grown men. They are asking me why I did this to them. I told them I had to do what is best for me.

"You know I knew this would happen. I knew people would be mad and say stuff. I didn't think it would be like this. It wasn't a complete shock to me, but I guess that's just how fans are.

"It's just crazy right now. What's getting crazy is people are going to the board at my school trying to get me in trouble. They are telling my teachers I am a bad kid and all this stuff. It's just bad right now.

"Social media has definitely been the worst. People on Instagram are telling me how they hope I tear my ACL in game one. They will laugh when I do. They are saying my family is horrible and how they didn't raise me right. It's just crazy."

he was probably treated like royalty the past 2 years and now zero fricks are given.

My guess would be that he has been getting free meals and treated very well for the last 3 or 4 months and now all that has stopped and he is mistaking it for mistreatment. Like has been said, he handled this really poorly. Bama fans can say what they want, I doubt that Stephen Roberts goes over to the announcement to watch him commit to Bama. I think he was torn but I also think he was telling people conflicting things.

He needs to just shut off his internet for a few months until he can get out of town because he won't get any special treatment around Auburn anymore. Facts, not a melt on it.

That's pretty fricked up. There's no way to defend that type of behavior. Ever.

But I know those idiots don't represent Auburn fans, just like Updyke does not represent Alabama fans.
