Which it also why police have to be held to such a high standard. They have all of the power. When they abuse it they have to face severe criminal penalties. With the power comes the responsibility.
Unfortunately the number of people who subscribe to the "comply or die" concept allows the state to continually abuse the rights of citizens without any penalty. When the state violates the rights of one they have violated the rights of all. It should not tolerated, let alone encouraged through indifference, at best, and some twisted sense of schadenfreude, at worst. We can make it less likely to happen, supporting the concept of "comply or die" makes it far more likely to happen.

After thinking about this overnight, the SEC should hit Jacksonville where it hurts. Just move the game away from them. The game provides a significant economic impact to the city and if they police are going to treat fans like this, then it's time to move on.

The game is arranged between Florida and Georgia. The SEC isn't involved, the agreement is between the two schools and Jacksonville. Similar to Arkansas and Texas A&M deciding to play in Dallas, the SEC has no say it that.
The only thing the SEC could do would be to not accommodate the game like they have (it's always around Halloween and always gets the guaranteed 3:30 slot) up until now. The SEC could say the game will no longer be protected in terms of the date and they could put the game on SEC Network at Noon, that way the city of Jacksonville doesn't get the exposure from the game that they want. But the SEC can't force the game away from Jacksonville.
But I still think UGA uses this as another way to get the game away from Jacksonville long term, either to a true home/home or to where it's held in Atlanta during years UGA is the home team.

Show it from the beginning as to what started it off. Did the guys put their hands on the cops?

Public outcry rights a lot of wrongs. The department will try to bury this, because that's what they always try to do. People making this public are doing the right thing.
The alternative is to simply accept it as a fact of life - the state can do anything it damn well pleases and the citizenry should shut the frick up and accept it.
It can happen to anyone. Anytime, anywhere, in any situation. It should, at least, not be tolerated as a simple fact of life.
We need to rid ourselves of the lie that being a policeman in the United States is dangerous. It simply is not. The stats do not support the idea. It is somewhere in the mid 20s behind almost all construction jobs. It simply is not dangerous.
It is HARD. That is worse than dangerous, especially when the danger is not significant yet perceived to be. Dealing with the public in a professional manner is damned difficult when the public is drunk, mad, or somehow out of their mind. It requires more than brute force and a fondness for violence. Brute force and a fondness for violence makes the job harder AND more dangerous than it would be otherwise. We should insist that policemen get the training they need, the emotional support the job requires, and that they behave in a manner which is above reproach. Supporting the concept of "comply or die" is a massive disservice to them...they have a hard if not dangerous job and one that is essential to order and civility. When they lower themselves to the level of our worst element they are damaging society far more than the lowest criminal because they are doing so in the name of the state and with the states support and massive power. It is a problem that will not be fixed with "comply or die".

If that were a black guy you would be posting FAFO and explaining why he got tased and his arse beat because he was belligerent, refused to listen and threatened the officers so he deserved it.
You'd be looting a Foot Locker, but you don't see a bunch of angry white people out looting Apple stores in retaliation for this incident.

If people would learn not to question a cop or make eye contact with a cop, these things wouldn’t happen. Cops heroism and dedication to service and being stalwarts for law and order commands respect from the citizenry. When you ask them a question, you are questioning their motives and judgement and there is no place for that in America. When you make eye contact, you are provoking them with disrespect. Below the chin is where you look at a cop, out of reverence and respect for the authority vested in them by the state. I am sure that the “fans” (aka criminals) crossed these lines and others and gave the cops no other choice but to punish their disrespectful behavior.

Good thing the fans weren't throwing water bottles.
Probably would have been shot on site.

My point is to only make a judgement from a video clip instead of knowing THE ENTIRE FACTS.
There’s no way to determine who really is at fault.

There are no paper tickets. On phone.

huh? not holding on to tickets makes you entitled and disrespectful? Their parents held on to the tickets...its not uncommon..

Has the black officer been fired and arrested yet?

I’m not saying the encounter was justified and that the cops were correct, but trying to confront some trigger happy cop doesn’t end well for most folks. Wouldn’t you rather go home to your kids vs being shot?
id rather it not get to that point because our police have common sense and quality training...its a football game. If they say the tickets are with the parents, then follow them to the parents and ask to see them. If they deny that request then you have an issue

If you know you need tix to get to your seat, WHY weren’t the kids given them (in whatever form they were in)?

Most likely there were on a phone and the kids didn't have a phone of their own.
