Honestly this is going to eventually start happening. I would have zero sympathy if that crowd had decided to beat the living shite out of both of those cops. They behave the way they do because they have zero fear of consequences and repercussions. Why should they? You can’t sue them. You can’t charge them and it takes an act of God to fire them. Even if they are fired they’ll just get hired on somewhere else.

Assuming you’re antifa?

I want to reply to this interaction directly...

would you consider those that stood up to britian and rebelled to be Antifa? Because at a point all of the people in history we call Patriots would have been called traitors to the british. At a point this person is correct, if Cops are infringing on our rights so obviously, then seeing citizens take action is necessary. It's why the 2nd amendment exists, and we shouldnt lose sight of that just because the blue generally vote red or because "we are a nation of law and order" ...especially when the police arent following the laws.

in fact if you want to know one big reason the left says the right is authoritiatian and facist, its their unabashing support of the police.

Because most ushers are reasonable enough to look at who is coming in and out of a section and to know that if they have a doubt about what some teens are saying, they can be walk up and check or have someone else do it.

I don't think people understand that Jax PD don't fricking play. This is a horrible look to people who aren't used to seeing policing like this in action. Jacksonville PD trains with Memphis law enforcement and the policing in Memphis would ruin the delicate sensibilities of many on this board.

I'm not saying it is right or wrong, but it is what it is.

You have to know your environment. Jax PD aren't going to treat you like you like the yocals in your hometown PD.

There's places that you don't frick with the cops at all. Jacksonville is one of those places and has been for a long time.

It isn't a "police department", it is the JSO, or Jacksonville Sherrif's Office. Most of them are good men and women. The idiots need to be addressed. But the last thing needed is a bunch of Monday morning quarter backs spewing shite on social media

I disagree. Almost always in cases of extreme police misconduct, you find a few red flags in the officers past where he had exhibited bad behavior, but the department swept it under the rug and kept it hush hush because nobody raised their voice enough. Usually, the only time anything is done to an officer other than getting a little paid time off and some desk duty is when a) it creates a mass outrage online/in the media or b) an outside/higher up agency gets involved and investigates. When police investigate themselves, they never find wrong doing on their part.

There are many instances where an officer was found to have done nothing wrong by his own department, yet the video later got out and people said “WTF? How is he not in jail?”

Cops protect their own, even if there is video of one of them behaving horribly.

I guess the only good thing that has come out of the state of new york performing a huge multi-jurisdictional armed raid to confiscate and later kill a famous squirrel and pet raccoon is that it opened a lot of people’s eyes. People who said “the government/police would never do… Oh shite, they murdered that guys pets after holding him and his wife at gun point for 5 hours while they ransacked his house all because he didn’t have a permit for a pet squirrel.”

Another easy fix would be to only hire officers who have a little common sense. The good thing about the latter solution is that the common sense could be used in many situations, not just when some some dastardly kid doesn’t have a football ticket on them.

What reasonable person would think that a police officer would go Rodney King because a kid was at a football game without a ticket in his pocket? Other than you? There are stupid people in this world. Some of them become cops. Some of them choose the username ‘southernboisb’ and post on the internet.

Your post says “ushers”. This whole thread is a video involving cops. While I agree that the staff could validate things, the kids COULD have carried the tix (in whatever form it was in) when they left their seats since I’m pretty sure they needed it when they initially sat down.

I’m saying this out of experience: having to show my ticket in the 8th inning at a baseball game after going to the restroom.

Funny…the SAME arguments are made after a shooting (“there were red flags, but they still got a gun”).

Yeah, I’m stupid for suggesting that the fan in attendance could have easily carried proof of their seats when they HAD to carry that proof when initially sitting.

& some blame a 3rd party for an issue created by somebody else only because they see a snippet of an event & not the entire situation.

The fans in question here are kids. Do you by chance have any kids between the age of 6-10 years old? Do you carry some of their belongings for them when you go out? Or do you just let them be responsible for them and buy replacements after they have lost them every time out of the house?

And to kengel, I don’t feel I need to edit anything here. There are good cops and there are a-hole cops in the world. After seeing the bodycam video I think we saw one of each.

As I said in the bodycam thread, I think it is a little scary that a single ticket attendant can kick a fan out of a game. Those cops were kicking that guy out, period. Maybe he deserved it, maybe he didn’t. But they didn’t care what had happened, not even after he said he had video of it. They were kicking his arse out because one ticket attendant told them to.

With immense power comes immense responsibility.

If the group needed the tix to get to their seats, WHAT would make them think they DON’T need them when leaving their seats?

To answer your question: no I don’t have any kids.

Because at a lot of games I have been to, once everyone is seated and the game is well underway, many gate attendants don’t check tickets of those coming and going. Especially in a section of seats that are half empty like the one in the video..

That is why.
