Alabama was around the 6th or 7th best team in the nation last season. They'll be around that mark again this year.
It's easy to load the schedule up with cup cakes, and then coach a team up for 1 or 2 big games. What they do is no different than what Boise State did during their heyday, the only difference is Alabama gets pushed over the top by the extreme media bias.

This thread is fricking gold!

Let's just ignore 2010 when we had Florida and USC and it seemed like every team had a bye week before playing us. Yes that's old news and definitely not relevant.

I think maybe he should do a little research before he makes comments such as always has a bye week before his tough games. Last year our bye week was before Missouri, I guess we really needed that since we beat them 42-10. I wish we had a bye week last year before the A&M game, because that game was at the end of 3 pretty tough games. We were really beat up after the LSU game, and could have used the bye to mend before A&M. So a person shouldn't judge by only looking at the schedule for 1 year, and the easy schedule doesn't always help. Look at Georgia for the last 2 years. They had the easiest schedule in the SEC and didn't even win the conference.

Cowherd please!!
There has been a bye week before LSU since 2009, so why is it an an issue now?

There is no Alabama on our schedule. Of course ours is going to look weak compared to the lesser schools that have to play Bama every year.

Yep, that's the only reason without a doubt

I have a question for Alabama fans. How would you feel if the SEC office was in New Orleans, the schedule was made by an LSU grad, and LSU always seemed to navigate around tough east teams while y'all always got tough east games.

“As we began working on the 2013 football schedule, it became apparent that the conference would need another year of the ‘bridge’ schedule to make everything work,” said SEC Commissioner Mike Slive. “I appreciate the SEC transition team and our athletics directors, who came together to put this schedule in place. We look forward to starting with our new scheduling rotation in 2014.”

Alabama has the easiest schedule in the SEC this year. A little unfair to use them to compare ND to the SEC. Also, while there is nothing shameful about ND's schedule, all of the teams have a recognizable name, but few are actually high quality opponents.

I guess he forgot last year when they played #11 Miss St., at #5 LSU, then #15 Texas A&M in a three week stretch.
In 2010, they went to #10 Arkansas, home against #7 Florida, then on the road to #19 S. Carolina.

We will end up playing 6-7 top 25 teams and potentially 4 top 10. Our schedule is beast

So much awesome.
Maybe though, in that hypothetical, we would've gotten LSU at home on a Saturday night to win the West last year. All the scheduling whining and BS was irrelevant and it came down to a winner take all. Maybe we would've blown that chance just like LSU?

Cowherd isn't an LSU fan. Just a casual observer. Mom biased. Y'all make it sound like these thoughts come from LSU fans. The only people who can't see Bama has unfair advantages are Bama fans.

The point he was making is that Bama gets scheduling benefits.
Hey tard boy, did you know that its a ROTATION, that they use to make the schedule. And did you know that, according to rotation, we should be playing Vanderbilt in 2014, thats gonna rustle some jimmies. Man, if you think we have any pull on the scheduling, you are the pefect kind of butthurt fan. Congrads on that.
