Other teams are playing instantly eligible guys from overseas, why shouldn’t Bama?
Bediako signed a two way contract with the Spurs in 2023. That’s the difference here. If you allow this, every struggling two way player with eligibility will go back to school and get that easy NIL. Just insane.

Auburn has several guys that could return: Jared Harper and Shariffe Cooper being two of them.
Hell even Wendell Green Jr would be a massive addition to this roster. We need a point guard badly.

This is not entirely accurate. You have to look at when they started their five years of consecutive time to play four seasons. Harper's clock started in 2016, his time is up.

Cooper's started in '20-'21, so he could not return either, if my math is correct.

Yes. The shufflling and reshuffling that this will cause just so some dude that isnt as good as he thought he was can sign one of those lucrative paychecks again. The back and forth between the NCAA and NBA would be exhausting.

Gotcha. We still could bring back Denver Jones and Chaney Johnson.

At a quick glance, looks like Jones used all four of his years. Johnson's stats on basketball reference are confusing to me. Not sure what level he played his first few seasons. JUCO maybe?

If Lebron decided to play college basketball at the end of his career, could the NCAA stop him at this point?

With the money the program would bring in, the school and Lebron's sponsors could easily pay him close to an NBA salary.

That's quite an assumption of loyalty. Those are two final four players that are proven. You will have multiple teams bidding them paychecks up.

I think they both were community college/JUCO one of their years so they technically could come back.

Denver Jones already played his 4 seasons and Johnson played 5.

Again, the pool of G League players who have not already run out their eligibility is not that big.

In my opinion, the NCAA would not have a firm legal leg to stand on to stop that.

In a world where you Nancies are afraid to tell anybody no I guarantee Lebron would be playing college ball if he wanted to.

The economics still have to be attractive for players to choose NCAA over [insert professional league here]. Tell me exactly what college booster is going to pay LeBron what he's making in NBA salary plus whatever endorsement money he is earning (that's linked to participation in the NBA).

He's consulting with Chad Baker-Mazara and Carson Beck on the best options there.

The fact that some podunk circuit court judge in Tuscaloosa is the reason for it is the more hilarious part

These comparisons aren’t really hitting like you think. This is a guy who was under NBA contracts returning to college. Not dudes spending a decade in college.

they try, then get sued. What could/should they possibly do?

The courts need to GTFO of college athletics; judges are the reason we're in this mess.
