Yea DSJ, the support is cool but I'll admit that things were stretched to fit the shitpost narrative. Only two of those things are worth discussing, the logo which we already have a lengthy thread about, and the name which is a boring discussion because it applies to many others.

Yea I also saw that the campus was modeled after Yale, at least in some aspects, but I couldn't find enough about it to easily include it. It's still pretty interesting. Can the similarities be seen today?

That was driving me nuts yesterday. I spent like 45mins trying to find ways to google it for something to come up. Learned some things on random sports sites though. Ha.

Not just the head man, the very first head man at the Seminary of Learning of the State of Louisiana, later the Louisiana State Seminary and Military Academy, and then later Louisiana State University. The A&M College portion of the current title came later as a result of merging the former A&M College with LSU.
Sherman resigned when Louisiana seceded to return to duty as a Major in the Union Army, while the faculty and students joined the Confederate Army.
Using Georgia dating, LSU was actually founded in 1853, although the first students enrolled in 1860, the date LSU uses as its beginning date.
