Approximating 2011 would be something, wouldn't it.

Well, we are DBU and it's amazing how often I hear retards make this "he wasn't even your best DB" statement.

As if special teams plays no part in determining a player's greatness.

Gump on.

Don't think he's the 'greatest', y'all have had some good ones - but I think he's damn sure the cockiest.

He won't be their best DB again this year, Simon is a better player.

you'd love him too if he was on your team. You'd love him too with all the ST plays and big plays he made year. I dont know if you bama boys cant read, but nobody is saying he is the best DB we have ever had. FOOTBALL PLAYER is more than just one position, and he is more of a nickelback that eats QB's. He had a bad game, as the rest of our boys seemingly did, in the BCSNCG, but its not like Bama didnt have the sheer advantage in that game. On top of the fact that your boys had the revenge factor working for them, Saban had an extra 2 weeks to let his boys rest up and gameplan for LSU. TM7 runs his mouth a little too muc for my taste, but his accolades and plays on the field show how weak your overrated argument is.

You're biting too hard.

ETA: I just don't want the thread to get derailed into a revisit of the BCSNCG bullshite.

The only thing that hurts TM7 is something he can't overcome and that is size. Big receivers just go up higher than him.

Yep. I agree with that. He is an unbelievable play maker though. No one (with a straight face) can argue that.

Come on guys. He's a very good player. But your best ever? You're not THAT stupid. He happens to play a position that puts him around the ball a lot. He made a lot of great plays, and also had the ball bounce his way more than his fair share. If he forces 95 fumbles again this year, I'll LISTEN to your argument, but it's just not going to happen. He won't be a heisman finalist, and he'll look a lot more like the 5'7" DB that got picked on in the NC game than he did most of last year.

Get Simon off the sideline and he can be thrown at. If he worked super hard this offseason then he'll be the next PP7/Mo-C.

If he didn't then you WILL see SEC OC's scheme him away from the sideline. You aren't doing shite against him throwing to the sideline inside the hash. He defends the sideline better than anyone we've had including Mo & PP7.

I think you could be right on this one.

I'm not saying he is right now even though an argument could be made.

I'm saying he's on the verge of being there.

I have a hard time declaring anyone the greatest at anything unless their case is overwhelmingly compelling.

However, I think it's fair to put him in the category of the most elite players in the history of LSU.

Who would one have over him if he has a similar performance to 2011?

I really think it had more to do with AJ playing like a god than TM7 getting beat.

Laron Landry, Craig Steltz already in the League. B-Taylor a 3rd Round pick and probable starter.

With Eric Reid coming this year as a 1st Rounder, and Cory Thompson and Ronnie Martin behind them?

Hmmm...I am being completely respectful but I disagree.

Mathieu certainly is getting a lot of bad attention on Twitter. I don't follow him, but sportswriters were retweeting that cocky talk all over the place. Serious question: Why do you think he's doing it? Is he just that cocky or a little insecure? I noticed one of his tweets was about his height not mattering.

I'm betting I've watched that game a LOT more than you have. In fact, I watched it last night. AJ played pretty well, but far from perfect. He made some good throws, and he had some that took his WR's out of their strides and made them have to make great catches. He overthrew a wide open preston dial that would have been a TD. For the most part, it was just an easy game for Bama because of the game plan and good execution by everyone.
