Little early don't cha think? Petrino had a similar situation with our defense, in 2010 people said if the D can just be average Arkansas could win it all.
please tell me who said this besides arkansas fans... theres no way you guys could beat bama or florida, you guys couldn't even beat Ohio State! YOU ARE AN INSULT TO THE SEC BECAUSE OF THAT! LSU and UF kicked ohio states head off for the previous NC's but obviously Ryan Mallett couldn't handle pressure vs anyone or any close games cuz he couldn't come through once... Nuff Said

Alabama was better than LSU at the line of scrimmage last year and will be again. In other words we could block you but you couldn't block us.
y'all are losing a lot, and Eddie Lacey is from baton rouge he just wasn't good enough to play here you kinda got our sloppy seconds on that one...

I think the winner of that game plays Oregon or USC for the title (assuming Oregon doesn't get the ban hammer on postseason play)
A lot of people say are comparing Alabama's defense next year to the 2010 defense. I honestly think that the talent is a lot deeper now than it was in 2010 and all of the guys were have projected to step up as starters next year have seen considerable playing time last season. The Bama D wont be near as deadly as it was last year but expect it to be a top 10 (hell, maybe even a top 5) defense and either the number 1 or number 2 defense in the SEC.
LSU and Alabama will be the top 2 teams in the conference again next year. Arkansas does have some talent returning and will be better on the D side of the ball but Miles and Saban both have Petrino's number and unless Miles goes full retard again and Saban pulls a 2010 Iron Bowl, I just dont see Arkansas beating LSU or Bama.
tl;dr

Smart money is on LSU to win it all this year. I think Alabama has a shot, but we'll have to face a very pissed off LSU team in an extremely hostile environment, and Arky will test our young D. Our lack of experience in D will catch up to us in one of those 2 games. Until Arkansas can field a defense, I think they are out of the title equation unless Tyler Wilson turns into Drew Brees this spring. Outside the conference, I think it'll be USC or Oregon playing LSU for the title.
Just spewing out thoughts, so don't criticize me for jumping around there...

Alabama fields the best OLine in the country and will be the one team that can handle the LSU defense, just like last year.
We need to replace our NG but other than that the rest of the defensive front returns along with a lot of experience at LB. The load will be on Mett because you ain't running this time either.

We have LB's CJ Mosley and Nico Johnson come to mind and there are more that played.
Secondary will need retooling but once again we have people back that played along with our starting FS.
Don't think this is a total rebuild because it isn't.
LSU needs to figure out where to hide the Honey Badger to keep us from abusing him again.

With both teams replacing key elements on D (Upshaw,Chapman,Menzie,Hightower,Barron,Dre Kirk)
(Claiborne, Brockers) neither LSU or Alabama will field their best team ever
