Confirmed via both NC State and NCAA sources in the Kendall Rodger’s story. We can stop blaming Vandy for any part of this mess- this was all controlled by the NCAA.

Unfortunately for Vanderbilt, they benefitted from the ridiculous action of the NCAA in this tournament, so I think most people will invariably cheer against them due to an intrinsic sense of fairness.

Fair enough. But just realize we are in this position because of the NCAA - not because we somehow influenced the situation.

Imagine Alabama football was about to play the first round of the playoff, and the NCAA stepped in and tested a bunch of their opponents’ players before the game, then ruled they had to forfeit.
It wouldn’t be Alabama’s fault, but the rest of the nation’s college football fans would want to burn the NCAA to the ground. And EVERYONE except Bama fans would put an asterisk by the championship if Alabama went on to win it.
It’s kind of a no-win scenario. You gain an arbitrary competitive advantage based on someone else getting screwed. If you win, no other fan base will recognize your accomplishment. If you lose, everyone else is thrilled but wonders if your ruled-out would-be opponent would’ve won it all.

I know that this situation sucks for Vandy fans, so you’ll just have to have very thick skin and cheer like hell for your team. Eventually people’s negative emotions will subside.

I don’t think anyone is saying Vandy went behind the scenes to influence any of this, but you have to admit that the optics of what the Ncaa did looks damn bad.
I mean, let’s just make NC State forfeit and give Vandy the spot in the Natty series without earning it. And while we’re at it, Vandy will get a day off and free rest time for their pitching staff while Miss State has to play and use up their pitchers right before they natty series.
That just ain’t right.

Vandy’s history of losing has never been a problem for SEC fans. Now that Vandy is winning NC’s the hate continues to ramp up. Unfortunately this comes with being a consistent winner in the SEC.

That’s exactly what a whole lot of people were saying. They were saying Tim Corbin forced the NCAA to test all of NC state’s players or he wouldn’t let his team play, and that no Vandy players would be tested. This rumor spread like wildfire across the internet and people were fired up. Well, the truth came out that of course Corbin had nothing to do with NC State getting tested and that the entire Vandy team was tested and were all negative. But don’t let the truth get in the way of a good old fashioned mob.

I agree. Corbin doesn't administrator tests. He doesn't do the labs. He just makes a call and gets someone else "to do".

Regardless, I think every Vandy fan knows whether they admit it or not that NC State would’ve waxed that arse with a full squad. That team was robbed.
