Odd. Baseball fans are usually a cut above fans of other sports. I guess you prove there’s always an exception…

Somebody mad they're not in the party

They really aren’t a baseball rival though.
Yeah. For several reasons. We have only had sporadic success in baseball while Florida is pretty good most if not every year.
And, as far as I know there hasn't ever been a big amount of animosity in baseball. (Maybe because we haven't been all that good?)
Almost seems surreal though the amount of animosity in football and the lack of it in baseball, though.
Anyway. Congrats and good luck.

Out of curiosity, are the rest of us supposed to congratulate just UF and LSU, or the whole SEC ? The latter sounds like what most on here are doing.

That’s a really sad indictment on society when we can’t see the value in being a good sport and person with integrity. I don’t think it’s gay at all. I think it’s a characteristic we all should emulate and champion, even when it doesn’t appeal to our very base childishness we find ourselves in this world today.

I would congratulate the whole SEC as the whole conference is pretty darn good at baseball, but LSU and Florida made it to the top of the heap.

One can, and should, do both. Individually both UF and LSU had incredible seasons. Bigger picture, the best conference in the country just exerted its dominance over the lesser conferences…again.
You may bend the knee now.

So, you would be the first in line to give kudo's to an Alabama or Auburn winning it all in football ?

I am an SEC fan.
That said, baseball does not have the passion that football does.
Saying that, I thought Auburn got a raw deal in 2004, and I pulled for Alabama to win their titles except when they were playing Georgia.
I was always brought up to congratulate people when they do well and work hard. I see no problem with that. Work as hard as you can and do as well as you can. Do everything legal and fair (within the rules) to win, then congratulate the other guy/tam if they do better.

Your last sentence says it all . congratulate the other guy/team, not the whole conference.

This is what people do. They take chivalry and turn it into being a fanboy.

I mean, that's ok, if that is what you want. But, as I said. I am an SEC fan. If we can't win it, I want another SEC team to win it.
The more exposure a conference gets, the more money they can get in TV contracts, and the more recruits want to compete in a conference giving my school a leg up in recruiting.
Thet means more money for my school leading to better facilities, academics, teams and overall experience.

Congratulations, Gators and Tigers! I have a sister-in-law who graduated from LSU and we have friends who live in Gainesville who went to UF.

Do you pull for UGA, or the SEC, first ?

You are supposed to stay on the ACC or Wake Forest boards.

For years on the SECRANT I’ve said top to bottom sports LSU and Florida have the best athletic departments in the SEC and for years I keep ending up being right.
Impressive what they can sustain despite many rotations of coaches and players.

I rarely do as i'm told. It's a character flaw, I guess.

What a strange question. Georgia. And if we are not in it, then an SEC team.
I mean, we have Clemson fans come on here and argue that the ACC is a better football conference than the SEC, which I find bizarre. You act like only the SEC teams are conference oriented group.
We typically pull for our favorite teams then when playing OOC teams pull for the SEC team. Not all SEC fans do this but a decent share.

Are they really Clemson fans, or just trolls trying to start junk? Top to bottom the SEC is the toughest. the top 1 or 2 teams in any conference, IMO are pretty close. Mid to bottom is where the SEC flexes.
I will admit UGA has been the best team the last 2 years. Ouch, that hurt.

Nothing gay about it. After all the smack talk dials down it’s healthy to acknowledge the accomplishments of other sec schools. I’m sure LSU and FLA will compete well and hopefully entertain all our lesser SEC little brothers.
