Pronounced dead from the incident in Houston. Prayers to all that passed this is a very sad situation that should have never happened!

This girl was graduating from aTm in 2022

The entire deal is tragic.
Never should’ve happened.
Her family, understandably, is wrecked.

What a tragedy.

Is there any additional information as to exactly what happened, or what caused it?

Silver Taps: One the most “Aggie” of traditions, but one you don’t want to be necessary.

Silver Taps

quote:

‘DEAR MOM & DAD’

As the 1968 fall semester began, Silver Taps was held Sept. 17 and Oct. 22. One of those nights, likely the first, Corpus Christi freshman Don Coward ’72 sat down and started a letter to his parents.

“Right now it’s 11:00 and Call to Quarters is over, I should be in bed, but there’s something I have to tell you both first,” he wrote. “I’ve experienced tonight what A&M is all about.”

His clear, moving account of the ceremony follows (see text, next page).

On Nov. 12, Silver Taps was held again—this time for Coward and two other cadets killed in an auto collision during the weekend of a Corps trip.

Apparently Travis Scott encouraged people to rush the stage, even those without tickets. We’ve seen similar concert stampedes in the past. Awful tragedy. There is a good account on Youtube of everything that happened, but I forget the creator’s name.

Wow -- if true that would make him culpable, yes?

Apparently Travis Scott has a history of actively encouraging his fans to rage at his concerts, which has previously resulted in serious violence at his past concerts as well.
Reports are that people hopped turnstiles and fences to get into the sold-out festival— without tickets

Ultimately, the crowd surged towards the stage, crushing many people.
In addition to the nine deaths, scores of people were seriously injured.
The litigation from this event will be in the $millions.

I thought this was only at past concerts, not this particular event.

I can’t imagine what that girl’s parents are going through right now. As a parent, it would destroy me.

Even worse for her friends and family, there is a widely circulating video of her being evacuated from the scene. Not going to go into detail, but it's not any way you'd want your loved one memorialized. Now it's out there forever.

They also have video of a couple of people pleading with the stage security or crew to stop the show.

Unbelievably pathetic organized event. Somebody or several need to be held responsible

He deleted tweets encouraging people to sneak in almost immediately after the show. The festival also had a promotional video showing fans crashing the gate and rushing in.

How sad, and how reckless on his part. I hope this tragedy brings forth new standards for safety at concerts and events.

I’ve always thought the general admission areas of concerts were dangerous.
