You fired David Cutcliffe one year after he won a share of the SEC west and the Cotton Bowl. That brought the bad karma Ole Mise had until Kitfin. Cutcliffe went on to have very good success as an assistant at Tennessee and then head coach at Duke. He led Duke to a 10 win season and division title. The only other coach to do that at Duke in the last 60 years was Steve Spurrier.

I wouldn’t say Duke is a better job than Ole Miss, but it is a lateral job.

With that logic can Aubie say Big Al’s wins in 1959 through 1962 and 1990-1993 was the same?

To be fair, Tuberville was the main beneficiary of Bama's probationary period.

So are you saying Bama was the only team he had to compete with? Was beating LSU in 2000, 2002, 2004, and 2006 not an accomplishment? Was beating #1 Florida in 2001 and 2006 not an accomplishment?

SEC Records 2000-2007:

50-18: LSU
48-18: Auburn
48-18: Florida
47-20: Georgia
44-23: Tennessee
32-34: Arkansas
30-34: S Carolina
30-34: Alabama

No SEC team had a winning record against Auburn during this stout, 8-year stretch. Auburn was 4-4 against LSU, 3-3 against Florida, 4-4 against Georgia, and then 37-7 against everyone else in conference play.

Tuberville was a great coach for this period. Certainly no where close to “meh” as you say.
