Comparing LSUs Dave Aranda's stats to A&Ms Chavis'

Aranda’s LSU defense finished the regular season sixth in the country in scoring defense, second nationally in fewest touchdowns allowed, and 13th nationally in total defense. (Not bad for his first year on the job at LSU!)
Meanwhile, Chavis’ A&M defense finished 37th, 27th, and 91st in those three categories, respectively.

Tennessee fans were right all along
LSU fans didn't want to listen
A&M fans didn't want to listen

There is no way it could have anything to do with a talent gap of the actual players, specifically line backing core.

Is that not what we told you from the beginning? That's the position he recruits

Thats like saying me and you are both college coaches at good universities.
We both get professional jobs and I take over the Golden State Warriors and you take over the 76ers
and at the end of the year I boast about how great my team was compared to yours. Surely you see the idiocracy in your post.

shite recruiter
Hes recruits aren't in yet and the few that are are VERY VERY young... Lets hold judgement for 3-4 years and reassess.

There is a talent gap. That's because he refuses to recruit.

Better comparison would be Aranda's results at LSU versus Chavis' results at LSU.

No there is a talent gap today because LSU had a massive head start prior to when we hired Chavis.
Chavis has recruited some of the few bright spots we have on the defense.
Still he is coaching for his job next year.

Chavis' fat arse doesn't leave the couch during recruiting season.

Maybe for y'all but at Texas A&M coaches have to work for recruits. He has been pretty busy since even before we hired him in our recruiting.

Brah, LSU has had TWO 1-year coaches in Aranda and Steele; both of which have surpassed Chavis' stats both years.
Admit it, he's a shell of who he once was.

What's amazing about the D is they were able to be so dominant in the first year of an entirely new scheme with zero players having been recruited for his system and zero players having played in the system.

Or is it he was always overrated due to having a better base for talent?
Facebook didn't exist the last time A&M had more talent on the defense than LSU. Hell that is something I might not see in my lifetime.
I don't judge Chavis for having a worse defense than he did (or others have) at LSU. That was a given day one.
I judge him for the fact our defense got worse this year.

Unlike the NBA, there is recruiting in college football. The coaches are tasked with going out and recruiting the best players possible to fit their scheme. Chavis refuses to recruit. He also coaches linebackers and LSU signed ONE linebacker his last two seasons.
Chavis was a very good coach here. He could be very good at tamu if he'd go out and sign elite talent at all positions. All we hear about is the money at tamu, the facilities, etc. it should t be that hard to get top flight talent.

But I though A&M could get all the talent and the best coaches.....
