Yep. If a team is in Omaha.....they don’t suck. There is no lucking your way into this. Auburn and Ole Miss and Arkansas spent some time winning on the road to get to Omaha. Auburn went to Oregon State and beat one helluva good team to get here. Arkansas took down the Pokes to get here. We had Southern which plays in an inferior conference so I very much wondered if it was anywhere near the challenge. Who knows?

Mike won’t be fired. In the last month I’ve watched him do things that he’s never done. Like tinker with putting in Freshmen and changing the starting pitchers. It worked. If he loosens up and adapts down the road he will stay as long as he likes.

I don’t hate him at this point. He made it to Omaha which is what he was told he needed to do in order to keep his job. He’s never coached like this and it’s doing wonders for him.

He is a bit born again at the end of this season. I still think he leaves his pitchers in too long. And I’m not crazy about TJ back in the lineup. The freshman Woods was doing wonders at the plate. But Mike changed his thinking. If he can stay that flexible then we might see Omaha again before we collect our Social Security.
