It doesnt make sense from a revenue standpoint or improve on the current alignment so its not going to happen.

When you're adding Memphis to your "super" league its not an improvement.

I'm not sold on that being true. There are some facets of this that can indeed help profitability and revenue:
1) This would help garner interest from coast to coast. More interest nationwide provides the opportunity to increase revenue.
2) Many more regional games could significantly increase local interests.
3) More regional games provide better traveling opportunity that could lead to higher attendance and better atmospheres. Better atmospheres can increase revenue/ratings
4) Reduced travel costs for more regional games could really add up for many many schools. Not everyone is currently profitable.

More than half the teams in that super conference are in effect welfare teams.

That is to say they would receive far more in TV revenue than they would generate with their media rights.

Why would the TV conferences or the two existing conferences who make more now per capita than they would by adding non net revenue additions agree to split their slice of pie thinner than it would be otherwise?

It’ll be the Big Ten, the SEC, ND and likely a few survivors from the ACC. None of the other schools generate enough revenue to get invited to the next dance.

As far as regional travel, etc that will likely be addressed with new conference alignments for the cast offs once the realignment winners lock the door behind them and the other schools are left to figure out how to survive lower level football in the NIL/portal era.

I suspect many will just quit when the players unionize.

To be clear, I’m not advocating for it. I preferred pre realignment football, but the government has prevented us from NIL changes and the MBAs running the schools have shown they are going to maximize profits even if it means they crash the bus long term.

there should be relegation and promotion just like in European soccer.

This would be amazing. Pair the Sun Belt with the SEC, the MAC with the B1G, and Mountain West + Big XII
