Do you folks just really fail to grasp Title IX ?

Here's a little gem :

"According to the new policy, all incoming, current and transfer college athletes must disclose annually to their school whether their conduct has resulted in an investigation, discipline through a Title IX proceeding or a criminal conviction for sexual, interpersonal or other acts of violence. A failure by the athlete to accurately and fully disclose investigatory activity, a disciplinary action or criminal conviction may result in penalties, including a loss of athletics eligibility as determined by the school."

Thanks for the Pat Forde reference though.

None of that applies to Guice at all.

That would have been Les Miles, not Orgeron.

Les miles coached the first few games before being replaced by Oregon. He knew about

Okay, for the sake of argument, lets say he knew about the allegation after he took over.

What do you think he should've done?

Suspend the player and initiate a bona fide investigation for starters. Instead it was obviously swept under the rug

How should he go about initiating an investigation?

The girl wouldn't even talk to LSU officials about it and refused to file a complaint.

A USA TODAY investigation found that the women’s allegations were shared at the time with multiple people at the school – including at least two coaches, an athletics administrator and a nurse – yet the school does not appear to have investigated.

You are gonna go in circles with them.
Just leave it until the new story comes out (probably next week).

They don’t care about the university-wide ramifications - only Ed O, which is fine.

I don't really care if the tennis coach gets fired, she shouldn't have just brushed the allegation off.

The case in which the diving coach, the athletics administrator, and the nurse were involved was the one with the girl that wouldn't cooperate.

The other case is when the tennis coach was told about the allegation a year later by the former LSU tennis player's dad and didn't believe him. She should get the axe if its true.

I think he actually wrote that and it is well written and real.

Doesn't come across as lawyered or pr'd.

It’s not just the tennis coach, and it’s not just about who gets fired.

It’s clear that you don’t care about this beyond O getting in trouble. You have no connection to the university beyond your fanship of the football team. That’s fine, but I’m not sure why you and this other poster are engaging and arguing over two different issues. O has distanced himself from this, which he can afford to do [for now]. The university doesn’t have that option and this story will to continue to develop as it relates to that.

All of the details are stale at this point. Just wait for some new info - both of you.

It’s not pr’d, but it’s definitely lawyered.

It’s pretty much a characteristic legal statement, but a lot could be in O’s own words.

Given that these allegations have legal implications and O needs to protect himself legally and his buyout in case of a desperate AD looking for a scapegoat, everything he puts out will be lawyered. It has nothing to do with guilt, it’s just business. It’s not a bad thing nor does it indicate any wrongdoing.

Hear me out:

Coach O’s wife finds out he took a turn on her, doesn’t want to turn him in because Daddy O is bringing it in. She divorces him instead and gets a fat check.

This is pretty much anyone who's talking about this.

The only reason why this is a big story is the possibility of implications with the football team.

Why do you think they threw in a random quote from O but no mention of the president, AD, or the head coach at the time?

but I’m not sure why you and this other poster are engaging and arguing over two different issues.

We aren't arguing over two different issues.

He's insinuating that O was covering up the incident because he didn't start an investigation.

In totally believe that O wrote that. He may or may not have had that conversation with the player, but the player couldn't understand what the hell he was saying, and then O started punching himself in the face for emphasis
