Not correct. LSU is ultimately accountable and its possible systematic refusal to investigate allegations against players would be a huge story regardless if the head coach knew about it.

quote:

Why do you think they threw in a random quote from O but no mention of the president, AD, or the head coach at the time?

Because that’s a quote they uncovered from their investigation. They actually reached out to both LSU and Coach O with specifics about what they had found a few weeks prior to publishing, and neither offered clarification or a response, hence the quote and context being published as-is. Now that O has offered his version, that’s included in the article.
That’s why O and LSU can’t really go after USAT for the story - they forfeited the opportunity to offer “the truth” as they see it. O likely got bad advice there as he may have not known the university didn’t due its job with regard to Title IX at the time they contacted him.

quote:

He's insinuating that O was covering up the incident because he didn't start an investigation.

O didn’t cover anything up directly. He may share some moral culpability if he knew the university failed to do their part, but there’s no evidence of that right now.
However, evidence right now absolutely points to Title IX failures on the part of the university, and that’s higher up than just the tennis coach.

That’s all we known right now, but there is smoke that more is coming, but once again, O had distanced himself specifically from the Guice allegations.

No doubt.

This is only a big story because of its ties to the football program though.

If the football program legitimately didn't cover anything up, you'll hear very little about this anymore.

Where's the smoke?

You are gonna go in circles with them.

No one is going in circles here. The last few pages have been specifically about whether or not Orgeron knew that Guice raped anyone.

They don’t care about the university-wide ramification

bullshite. If the university failed in their duties then those responsible should be punished accordingly.

So, we are in agreement.

What did Miles know about do you think? You think he contacted the administration and that they informed him that the woman hadn't filed a complaint? Then, after he got fired, he called Orgeron to tell him that there was no complaint filed?

Knew about what exactly and how do you suspect that they found out about it?

Again, even if they did (which is a huge assumption), what could they have realistically done?
