Bert only needs 1 win this year to maintain his current SEC average of 1 conference win a year It's funny that he's not on the hot seat

I'm surprised no one thinks anyone will leave for another college job

So do the aggys think beating Texas on paper and recruitin sites is enough for Sumlin to get another year after this year?

Sumlin we be at A&M for a long time. Most Ags support him big time.

I don't see anyone getting fired barring an absolute disaster like a 5-7 season for Miles or Sumlin. I could see Mullen going 6-6 or 7-5 and getting frustrated and deciding to leave for a job where every team in his division is not a top 20 school.

True, but he'll "step down" Tommy Tuberville style into retirement.

Better question for the OP is whether Briles will survive keeping the kid on his roster that was convicted of rape yesterday. Yes......he was de-listed from the roster within seconds of the jury's verdict. Boise kicks him off the team for a sexual assault....declines to recommend his transfer......Briles welcomes the guy.....he soon is indicted for rape in Waco.....the athletic program and university (along with Waco media) keep it under wraps. Kid doesn't play but is listed on the roster and the DC hypes him this Summer. Then the trial (to the surprise of the media outside Waco) starts this week and the kid was convicted yesterday.

Baylor showing FSU how it's done. What also comes out in the trial is the disgusting treatment by the university of the victim....who was also an athlete. Looks very likely that a major Title IX investigation is going to get underway at Baylor. Briles very much at risk. The last thing in e world that OP should be thinking about is Sumlin. He will be lucky if both his head coach and president (Ken Starr) survive this disgusting fiasco.

As an Auburn fan, I can see why you'd hope that to be the case.

Les will go to Iowa when LSU under performs yet again. Bret will never be fired at Arkansas.

If UGA performs well, I could see Richt riding off into the sunset and Jeremy Pruitt taking the reigns. Same thing with USCe and junior.

If Arkansas doesn't improve on last year, stick an apple in Bert's mouth and throw him over the fire.

With successful seasons, the NFL could come calling for Sumlin and/or Malzahn (again).

Kirby Smart and Rhett Lashlee are both at points where it would be beneficial to get out of the shadows of their head coach.

I'm confused why everyone thinks Sumlin is NFL material..

IMO, his NFL future is tied to Chip Kelly success/failure in Philly.

they're both black. the comparisons basically end there

He beat your overrated team in just a rebuilding year. Give him 5 years of recruiting to his system will make LSU fans even more butt hurt.

Very good assessment

quote:

Too successful to be fired
Les Miles
Nick Saban
Gus Malzahn
Gary Pinkel
Steve Spurrier
Mark Richt, and
Dan Mullen

Too new to be fired
Jim McElwain
Butch Jones
Bret Bielema, and
Mark Stoops

Not bad enough to fire yet
Kevin Sumlin, and
Hugh Freeze

In trouble
Derek Mason

Mason will be fired and replaced by a young hot shot OC. Never understood why Vandy would hire a Defensive minded coach.
