Yep. Jaron brown was close to winning it with a td catch in ot but it was low. But yeah nick fairly hit Parker square in the back and he wasn't the same the rest of the year

I knew some of them were, but I didn't feel like trying to remember which ones were which. I know the Bama game in 2008 wasn't a bowl game, and am pretty sure you had a home-and-home with Auburn. My point wasn't so much the individual teams as the fact that you were scheduling SEC teams at all rather than just picking on some AAC team or something.

Gott give 'em some credit, though. They were stepping up to the plate and taking SEC teams on even over and above their regular USC game. Granted, some of the early games were probably scheduled before the SEC run of dominance, and a couple of those were UK, but LSU had won two national titles, Auburn had gone undefeated, Georgia was pretty strong the whole decade, and even Bama had come off a 10 win season just 3 years before that season opener. They didn't schedule scared.
Clemson has historically scheduled SEC teams tho. Tennessee played them in 1902. Our first meeting with UGA was in 1888, we met Auburn in 1900 and Bama in 1901 but we didn't play Florida for the first time until 1916, 14 years after playing Clemson for the first time.
They have such a lengthy history with the SEC that goes back to the beginnings of many programs that it's surprising they were never a part of it. Hell, their football team was founded by a Barner.

A Georgia fan would reference games played before HD
1) The list in the OP (not a georgia fan) went back to 06 (was there HD then? Honestly don't know). I simply went back 3/4 more years. NOt that big a deal, since it tied in with the general theme
2) Are Georgia fans known for referencing games prior to HD coming out? You act like this is something that we have the market cornered on.
But, I guess I"d try to find any talking point I could if my team had a 28% win percentage against another foe. 18-42 has got to sting.

You're right. I've always liked playing the bigger schools. Don't get me wrong, a 45-0 beat down is nice to get, but I like visiting stadiums I would otherwise never see when we schedule big OOC opponents.

Meh. Not really. Clemson won 14 games this year and pulls most Georgia recruits they want. A program like Georgia should expect better than what they have

Yeah, I don't really worry about the rivalry with Georgia. I miss it, but don't consider them a threat to a national title. Maybe Smart will get them where they should be based on the talent they have, but time will tell on that.

So every year since 2006, Clemson has lost to at least one SEC team OOC.
2006: Losses to SCAR and Kentucky
2007: Win vs. SCAR, loss vs. Auburn
2008: Win vs. SCAR, loss vs. Alabama
2009: Win vs. Kentucky, loss vs. SCAR
2010: Losses to SCAR and Auburn
2011: Win vs. Auburn, loss vs SCAR
2012: Wins vs. Auburn and LSU, loss vs. SCAR
2013: Win vs. Georgia, loss vs. SCAR
2014: Win vs. SCAR, loss vs. Georgia
2015: Win vs. SCAR, loss vs. Alabama
So they are:
0-2 vs Alabama
4-6 vs South Carolina
2-2 vs Auburn
1-1 vs Georgia and Kentucky
1-0 vs LSU
For a 9-12 record. Laughable for anyone else, but pretty good for an ACC team.

New Years Eve a few years ago ... Les gave that one away. I still can't believe how that game ended. Les absolutely handed that game to the taterheads on a silver platter.

I count 9-12, which is not quite as good but still respectable.
Alabama is 61-9 in SEC games over the last 8 years, for comparison.

Hmm, guess I wasn't paying very close attention. I gave them way too much credit. Thanks for the catch.

So does this mean they're not going to skulldrag Auburn and South Carolina around the field next year?
I don't think so.

No telling how good or bad we'll be. You're right though. Don't see us beating Clemson in Death Valley.

Did they skull drag us around the field this year? ... dumbass. With our worst tea in 16 years.
No.
They lose a lot of players.

No. 4 will be back. Which means you aren't winning in Death Valley.

Damn, Clemson plays a lot of SEC games.

it was an intense rivalry in both schools' heyday.
It may have been intense, but it wasn't competitive. UGA absolutely owns Clemson.

To put things into perspective on just how bad Clemson is vs. the SEC:
Clemson is (46-97-5) against SEC teams. This doesn't count yall's wins over South Carolina prior to 1992 since they weren't in the conference. But even if we throw those in (and the losses), the record is an atrocious 95-129-9.
Keep in mind, that record was accumulated with Clemson getting to play one of the SEC's historically worst teams every single year.
Clemson is 18-42 vs. Georgia
13-34 vs. Auburn
6-11 vs. Tennessee
2-12 vs. Alabama
1-3 vs. Vandy
3-9 vs. Florida
etc. etc.
Your history places you far closer to Mississippi State than Alabama.

It wasn't Fairly that hit him it was a defensive back. it wasn't called a penalty because he had scrambled down field and was considered a runner and not down when he was hit.

And they all think they'd win the East every year...
