Where have all the Clemson fans gone? Ditto for Ohio State fans - they've disappeared from the entire CFB landscape.

My hat's off to Clemson and Dabo this year. If they lose (and I expect they will), it won't be their typical laying an egg. Clemson is legit, much to my chagrin, and Dabo has done a solid job of building that program for the long haul. I expect them to be competitive for the playoff for a while...as long as he's there anyway.

I used to have respect for Clemson, or maybe just felt sorry for them...now I just completely loathed them.

They have the worst qualities of LSU and AU x's 10. I'm not dissing on LSU or AU - it's just the way a Bama fan sees it.

Maybe they have a severe case of the "little brother" syndrome.

You know your program has gone to the highest level when you play for the national title against Alabama and as an underdog lose and is considered that "Clemsoning"...

I would say about 115-120 FBS schools would like to have our problem. Schools like USC can only live through the success of great programs within their own league as their are jobbers

I like Alabama's team, I like most of their grads I know - I am for them in the NC game...but dadgum it seems their fans make it hard to root for them...Has to have some of the most idiotic fans ever.

You won the ACC the year we beat you in '11, and you call that building mode. That's awesome, how irrelevant is the ACC Championship?

As a GT alum, Clemsoning as I've always understood (and I do believe in it) personally stems from the 2007 GT/Clemson game.

quote:

While Buchholz was missing four field goals, Georgia Tech blocked a punt to set up its only touchdown and recovered a fumble on a kickoff return, leading to a field goal that finished off a 13-3 upset of the No. 13 Tigers on Saturday.

So I don't care what your hick arse coach says. I've seen Clemsoning with my own two eyes before it was common vernacular.

It didn't start this year, but it sure was sealed. By playing so well Clemson made "Clemsoning" a dead term, give them credit. Even with a bad showing in the NC game, no way this term applies this year and it also erases it. Now a few bad losses everyone has; FSU "Clemsoned" the Chicken Bowl.... but once you achieve this level of success it is over.. in terms of using the term as meaning perennial under achievement.

Incorrect. Clemsoning ain't just Clemson losing to an inferior team. It's how they lose to any team. Blown leads, dumb turnovers and shite like that.

I don't see it happening this year. They're too good. I think they lose to Alabama, but nobody will be saying Clemson pulled a Clemson.

Yes, it was 'building mode'. We also lost to Ga Tech, NC State before USCe that year. We had an awful defense. Now we're in the National Championship with a 14-0 record. Much improved program from top to bottom.
